UnshakenEmperor190
so i really dont know how to explain this but there are some mods in my load order( such as amidian born, Ordinator, Wico) that have the textures and meshes files missing and they no longer cause conflicts with other mods although they should. the mods tho seem to work in game normally so i really dont know what this is or how it happened. only the esps and bsas are in the mods folder and no matter how many times i reinstall the mods they dont change and i tries to redownloaded but still no dice. Please help.
Wererommel
Check your disk for errors. Also check your local game data on Steam.
UnshakenEmperor190
ok so basically mo2 doesnt unpack the bsa when downloading or reinstalling the mod so the files dont appear. how can i fix this?
Shabdez
Why do you want MO2 to unpack BSAs on installation? This is usually not necessary and modders do it only for very specific reasons. For confilct display in MO2 you can enable BSA parsing in the settings menu. But if you really need to extract the BSAs for whatever reason: Check your MO2 settings under "Plugins" -> Plugins BSA Extractor and make sure only_alternative_sources option is set to false. This should enable a user prompt that asks you if you want to unpack BSAs after installation.Or you can go the archives TAB on the right pane, right-click a BSA and chosse "extract". And btw, these texture or meshes folders are not missing, they are inside the archives which get extracted on game launch - at least while there is a name matching esm or esp file in your load order. UnshakenEmperor190
okkk so i was confused cus before these meshes and textures files were always in the mods directory itself and when i uninstalled and reinstalled mo2 these folders just disappeared, but currently i just extract these files from the archives tab. Shabdez
Sometimes, mods were initially released as loose files (=you can see all folders and files) and only get converted to BSA version with a later update. But the mods you've mentioned in your first post should not have received an update of that nature recently - as far as I can tell. Another explanation would be that a BSA mod gets a minor update or hotfix in loose file form so you have the BSAs PLUS the folders and at a later point those changes get packed into the BSAs of a major update.Looks like you must have extracted the archives at some point in the past and reinstalling them in MO2 restored their default installation as BSAs. EDIT: The automatic BSA extraction on installation was the default setting in MO2 until the 2.4.1 update changed this. Have you been using a pre-2.4.1 version of MO2 before? You might have clicked the "do this always and never ask me again" prompt when MO2 asked you if you want to extract the BSAs and simply have forgotten about this. UnshakenEmperor190
yea i think it started after i updated mo2. well how can I turn this option on again?
Shabdez
You must enable the function first. I already pointed out how to do this in my first post here.If you have it enabled but choose "dont't extract and never ask again" when the prompt came up, there is an option in the MO2 settings menu like "reset dialog choices" or something similar.
