Crash When Entering the Alienage

I am having an issue with entering the Alienage for the first time you get into Denerim. When I attempt to talk to the guard outside the gate, my game will crash. I have Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition and all updates. Has anyone run into this problem before? Any ideas on what mod might be causing this?

 

I know that it is said that Improved Atmosphere and JB3 Textures can make games act strange. If either of these are the cause, which one would be recommended to remove and can I do so without disturbing my game in progress? Thank you all for any help you can provide.

Removing IA can render your saves unusable, even with "Force Load". (It seems to depend on if you've got any items made of the non-vanilla materials in your inventory or equipped on any characters.) So while I recommend against using it in the first place, I also recommend against uninstalling it in the middle of a game unless you absolutely have to.

 

But my usual approach to troubleshooting this sort of thing is to remove all the mods (I can) and see if the problem goes away. If so, I start adding them back in batches of three-or-four, testing after each batch. When the game no longer works, I remove that last batch and add them one-at-a time until I find the culprit!

 

What I do next depends on the specific mod causing the issue.

I'd look at IA, Slinks and JB3. I love Slinks, but there are so many changes that it can cause lag resulting in crashes. IA and JB3 are the same way.

i also used to have the same problem either. but i only had this mods instaled

dusk equipment (mage set) / karma companions / bidelles cosmetics and Anto Hairstyle only

and yet i couldn`t finish the game no matter how many times i dissable and check on them.

forgot to mention, Alienage while chasing the Archdemon not while exploring Denerin

 

in the end i just ended doing it the original and normal way... without any mod
