When I join a faction everyone tries to kill me.

This has happened twice now, first with the thieves guild, when I tried to enter the cistern for the first time everyone goes nuts and tries to kill me. And now it's happening with dawnguard, the second I become a vampire lord, everyone but the guy who turned me goes not and starts trying to kill me.

 

This is very frustrating and problematic, and I have no idea what could be causing it.
