ix09
Hi, I'm new to forum participation.I apologize if something similar has been suggested before and I'm unaware: Has anyone considered expanding on the time-travel Wooden Mask to develop.redevelop Skyrim in part, or to whatever extent, to take us back in time when all the ruins were, well, not ruined? There could be populated, active, Dwermer cities. This could be Before, during or after the Nordic Snow-Elf War that led to the Snow elves enslavement by the Dwermer, so, there's a niche to create a new-ish Snow Elf architecture with settlements, cities, clothing styles, armor, weapons, etc.? ??? The basic underlying geography and Dwemer locations are already there? It'd be a matter of rebuilding them to new-ish lived-in conditions, requiring artistic vision in removing all the rubble, repairing, and opening up caved in areas and such. It'd be a huge undertaking the likes of a DLC sized endeavor, if not more, but, depending the extent of work and number of modders collaborating, it could be a whole new/old Skyrim. The mountains, rivers, and hills remain the same. The Dwermer cities are rolled back to working and lived in. Forests, and everything post-Dwermer isn't there (yet, possibly being built/under early construction by early Nords/Atmorans?), so there's mostly a whole map to re-envision? It'd certainly be a worthwhile undertaking for anyone, or any group of new, or established veteran modders to pull out all the stops in building something almost entirely new within the well established framework of the lore already in abundance. Once again, apologies if this or similar is a tired, already discussed, dead topic. Thanks.
killerman471
This is a crazy idea, but still it's one of the best! It'll be humongous! Good luck whoever is going to make it we'll look forward to it.

Good luck whoever is going to make it we'll look forward to it. Yeah, it is a crazy idea. It's probably one of those too-big-to-ever-happen ideas, though, and by time anyone, or any group of modders finished, Fallout 4, or something else new and amazing will have probably come out, Still, I'd play the hell out of it. There's certainly enough content in story line backbones to follow for Main Quest ideas in just reading about the Nordic Snow Elf War or Nordic-Falmer War. A problem I see with the idea is there's already tons of content out for the game to keep people plenty occupied from level 1 to 81. Adding in something of this proportion would probably either require modding the game from the start to make vanilla take much longer to level so as to leave room and time enough for a steady progression of advancement, or designing it as a stand-alone where a player starts, plays, and finishes within the confines of the Mod as a complete stand-alone "new" prequel style game. An alternative to that would be to make the mod something like the Waking Nightmare Vaermina quest where the player gets sent to the past into another body. In the new body, they could go through the showracemenu thing again, and start a whole new 2nd character to play from level 1 within the Mod with emphasis on playing Snow Elf, Atmoran, or Dwermer races from scratch where Dwermer don't use magic at all, relying on their technologies, instead but Snow Elf and Nord/Atmorans do, but they use entirely different flavors or styles of magic ... or something.A player would basically then, start over, playing a whole new game, developing skills, and perks all over again.Once finished with the Mod, and the player returns to their actual first Dragonborn character, they could then potentially go on a quest to "retrieve" all or some of their gear and swag from the "past", wherever they stashed it. In such a way, new leveled content could be provided without the need to compete with existing Vanilla content much at all. Ah, Ideas. It'd be cool, but, eh, who's going to do it? I've a hard enough time just getting my load order sorted in NMM much less creating a mod. Thus, all I got is this, eh, idea.
