has the updating stopped?

Of course, but for the unseasoned player faced with backtracking to a stable skyrim SE pre 1.6x after they've been auto-updated, or someone just getting into the game (or perhaps specifically for the AE content), that might not be desirable. For them, imo, best bet is to be apprized of those mods they *can successfully install for this version and run with it, since they likely won't be "downgrading" to 1.5.97.

exactly, not all of us are savy at modding and or up to date with the issues

Fair and true...

We're all (or at least most of us0 saavy at modding at first. However, and not in a scolding voice, (imo) you'd be wise to learn, because even 1.6x isn't going to be immune to the issues that one encounters when installing interesting or otherwise desirable mods in the future. And if your experience is anything like mine or many others, there'll be times when no one offers answers, solutions, or even advise.

Or, for that matter, accidentally installing a mod that's for a different, incompatible version, like most LE mods for instance, which are a common accidental install for people during their first year-ish of skyrim experience. I've been there a few times, and I've read probably hundreds of posts from others who've been there too.

Or just acquiring an undocumented glitch from an otherwise innocuous mod.
