bekru
I'm new to blender, nifskope, nifs and modelling/modding in general and this is pretty much my first to second project, just to give you an idea of my knowledge base. I've downloaded one of he replacement bodies and have been adjusting equipment to fit, to teach myself the methods and mayhem, so far with satisfactory results. At this point i have fitted a uniform and accessory equipment and even reused some bits (pockets) cut away from other meshes, and made some minor adjustments to appearance. All without making any new faces (for reasons i'll get into afterwards). Now after importing the skeleton, i go to export to .nif and it gives me a mix of errors alog the lines of :error: some faces of object (arms00.00) not assigned to any body part. the faces have been selected etc etc so its the knees (whichi adjusted a bit, and the pockets i added. From this point on i have no idea what im doing (as if i ever do) but what i have tried is; select relevent vertices and assign to vertex groups, try to export, usually i get the same message and someof the same parts are highlighted. twice i've gotte some error re weight painting but i cant remember it specifically. What steps do i need to take to repair/prevent this? I can throw up some screenshots if that is helpful.
dthumb
Make sure you wight paint every vertex group, ex. BIPspine, BIP01clavicle,BPhead (just examples, not actual names)If that didn't help, check for rigging tuts around nexus or the TESWiki http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index...for_3D_Modeling Helped me alot, especially this ones:For modeling (it's for MAX, but techniques are applicable for blender also)http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials/max/j...rc/joanmenu.aspAnd this for rigging for Oblivion and F3http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials/max/j...rc/joanmenu.asp Oh, and try not to skip the Blender Noob to Pro Tutorial, in case you want to make something a bit more ambitious. ;)
