Random crashes and freezes even after cleaning/making patches

So... I recently got back into Skyrim and began assembling another install. It was not very stable but it was playable, after some time however it began giving me random crashes and freezes, at the time i thought this was because i was playing Wyrmstooth in my main save and the massive internal cells and battles of the mod were too much for my computer but i decided to start a new game and i actually have some trouble getting out of Helgen.

I can confirm the game is getting nowhere near the 3gb limit, actually it very rarely goes over 2gb.

Load Order: http://pastebin.com/gpZQJdxU

Papyrus Log: http://pastebin.com/CM1YWGFN

Computer Specs:

AMD Phenom II X6 1075T (3.00ghz)

6gb DDR3-1333

AMD Radeon HD 6770 (1gb)

Windows 8 x64

Also, i have cleaned all mods that BOSS told me to clean and deleted the Leveled Items from the merged patch so all leveled lists are controlled by Wrye's Bash.

Should i take some mods out or i can make this install stable?

how did you delete leveled items? O_o

Have you run tes5edit at all to see if the load order is good?

Personally I found removing frostfall, realistic needs, wet and cold type mods to make my game much more stable and ctd free.

HAving scripts firing off in the background is something I avoid.

You should take not where the ctd's are happening If you know you're approaching an area where something is supposed to spawn in then you might need to take a look at one of your npc mods or even armour/weapon type things and make sure your bashed patch is patched right.

Have you tried running a bashed patch and not a merged patch?

u have alot more mods than me and a weaker pc compared to mine..

i guess u go for immersive gameplay..

id suggest you remove Wet and cold and instead go for get snowy. alot of the ctds i used to get were caused by wet and cold.

use skyrim performance monitor to see how much ram and vram u are using. Also are you using any enb? if yes which?

Clanking armor has caused me some ctds in the past though i am not too sure how it caused me ctds

i am not very expert at this but these are just the issues i had with some of the mods you are using.

i do agree Frostfall, RND and Wet and cold combination is blasting tons of scripts. try to let go of atleast 1 of those..

for me frostfall is essential... i can let go of wet and cold or rnd and so i stuck with rnd and got GET snowy as a alternate to Wet and cold.

I don't use ENBs at all. VRAM is basically capped, it's what holds my Skyrim install down. Not a big fan of the idea of taking Wet & Cold and Wet & Cold: Ashes off because it has more functionality than Get Snowy afaik but if it make thing all that unstable i might drop it. Frostfall and RND are essentials to me too.

To delete the Leveled Items open the Merged Patch at TES5Edit and delete the Leveled Items subgroup.

Also, it doesn't seem to make a big difference to use only the Bashed Patch.

i have had the same issue as you and i finally forced myself to take wet and cold out.. i have started a new game yesterday with mods aimed for immersion...and so far i didnt get any CTD

btw i some friends of mine have followed this guide..and have ended up with a pretty clean and CTD bug free skyrim.

The base of my install was a mix between this guide and standard STEP, altought i didn't do most fixes to the esps, maybe i should try that, altought i'm sure some of those plug-ins have been updated since (The guide was last updated 31 July)

STEP is a guide. The keeping things up to date and clean is up to the user ;)

Most of the mods in the Skyrim Revisited july edition have been updated but again, that's up to the user to use a bit of common sense and grab the latest.

You should be visiting the mod page anyways to download the mods and having a quick glance through the comments and mod description to see if there are problems, updates, compatibility patches etc.

Also avoid using mods that haven't been updated since forever.

I always get the lastest version. What i was talking about is that i didn't do the TES5Edit fixes listed on Skyrim Revisited and that i should try but some of them are probably irrelevant because the mods have been updated since i might already include them.

I think there's been a mix up O_o

I was replying to someone who had said STEP causes CTD's...I might've posted in the wrong thread. Sorry Tabris :(

Anyhows, you should most definitely do the recommended cleaning that BOSS suggests unless mod authors say otherwise :D
