batesmotel34 Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 While it's a minor complaint, as far as I can tell the Free Action spells (and any other cure paralysis on self spelll), scrolls and enchanted items are all totally useless. The only way that I can remember having successfully escaped fromm the effect of being paralyzed before the spell has ended is by using a Cure Paralysis potion. Is there some way to use any of the Free Action spells/scrolls/enchanted items that I'm overlooking? (I searched the archives for "Free Action" and surprisingly didnd't find any topics dealing with it.)
NinjaSalad Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 perhaps you can elaberate on what you mean by "Free Action" because I have no idea what you mean.
batesmotel34 Posted October 29, 2004 Author Posted October 29, 2004 "Free Action" is the standard cure paralysis on self spell available from many NPC's in the game. Also found on scrolls. I think I've found enchanted items (Amulet of Free Action?) with this enchantment as well, but I'm not sure without checking the last in the editor. My question is really if there is any way to use a cure paralysis on self spell.
NinjaSalad Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 I guess you could find someone who sells the cure paralysis spell, I'm not sure though, try looking in the temples. I'm quite sure I've come accros it somewhere, I'll look around.
Dilvish Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Once you learn the spell, you can make a constant effect cure paralysis on self item. If you don't have the item equipped before the need arises, you can still equip the item even though you are paralysed. Then you don't have to carry potions around. Sounds logical anyway? My characters carry a few potions but this seems like a good use for the spell.
Abramul Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 I believe a CE for ANY cure spell is too enchanterific to fit on any item.
NinjaSalad Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Ebony Helm has like 150 enchant power, I made a CE +1 health, so I think you would be able to make a cure CE
Dilvish Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Yeah you're right Abramul. An exquisite amulet with CE cure paralysis would take an enchantment of 502/120 and cast cost of 486/400. That shoots my theory down. Edit- NinjaSalad, The game won't let me make a cure 10% or 50% paralysis item. There may be some other benefit to learning the Free Action spell. Are there any quests where you have to cure NPCs that are paralysed? The Free Action spell does seem pretty useless.
NinjaSalad Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Outside Ald-Rune theres a Half Naked person who was paralized and needs you to cure him.
Malchik Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 Strangely he doesn't even need a 'cure paralysis' potion. IIRC you need a cure common disease potion. If you use a companion in the game I would think he/she might get paralysed. Then you could free them. However I don't know about this for sure.
