MintandFlow
Title says it all, I'm annoyed that From decided to make strength based weapons terrible in this game and that 4 games in a row faith continues to be terrible. They don't need to be overpowered (like sorceries and katanas) but they both desperately need a buff. I'll even throw you some bones for your time and effort. arwatp1
It's as simple as increasing the scaling of every seal and strength based weapon. Easy, but kinda time consuming and boring. Now there is also the question of what numbers you think are appropriate. 50% higher scaling? 25%?I'm kinda willing to do this because I also am unhappy with how weak str and fth are, but I could use some help with the specifics.I've also found out how to change the soft cap for stats, so I could also do that instead, and it is much easier and faster (i'm lazy) Edited March 17, 2022 by arwatp1
MintandFlow
I think 25 to 35% would be a good starting point but I'd also like to see changes like increase to hyper-armor and as bold as this sounds increase to things like blocking with a heavy weapon. It's not a shield granted but putting a giant piece of metal between you and an attack should cap out at like 80% at least. If you can point me in the direction of the tools to start making these changes I'd be more than happy to do it myself, but I am no modder and while I've f'd around with values like this that's only when there was a straight up value editor available usually through this site. Incantations are another thing that deserve a lot of love but are way out of my skill set.
arwatp1
The tool used to do this is called Yapped Rune Bear, you want to edit the regulation.bin file located in the game folder (make sure to make a backup). As for resources, the IDs of every weapon, spell, enemy etc. are located in this spreadsheet. It's very easy to do and you can edit seals, str weapons and even the spells you want (for example, I buffed Surge, O Flame so it's actually useful). The params called EquipParamWeapon, Bullet, AtkParam_PC, SpEffectParam and Magic should be the ones to look at for what you're trying to do. Good luck. Edited March 18, 2022 by arwatp1
