kokow
Anyway, I would just like to ask for advise regarding exporting 3d max objects for use in FONV. I've recently made a weapon model (not my originals though, but I got bits and pieces from various mods and spliced them together) in 3dsmax but it seems i'm having a bit of trouble exporting them. I've found some tutorials regarding exporting from 3ds max to blender or nifskope but still I'm a few steps missing on what to do prior to exporting, and even more steps on how to process it into nifskope to be used for Fallout NV.Hope anyone could help me out or even post some better tutorial links in the process. By the way, I'm still a noob in modding. If you're wondering on what I've been working on, I'm making a better M16 Sniper Rifle. I've got bits from eprdox (Scope), XZAZ (M16 front rail, barrel and silencer), DW (forgot the full ID) (M4a1 upper and lower receiver, hand grip, trigger assembly, front and rear folding sights and magazine), Khugan (m14 EBR bipod and scope clamps), and from spamPTRS (marksman carbine stock. Idunno if it was his or a modification of the actual marksman carbine). I'm still going to reskin this to digital desert camo eventually, once I get the kinks out of importing. Thanks in advance! maybenexttime
You shoulda just started with nifskope. You can mix and match pieces of any guns on nifskope as long as you are using a gun that is already in game or from a mod. It's much easier that way than putting pieces together in 3ds max. kokow
Thanks, I'd probably try that. Actually I got to export this model eventually to Nifskope, the only problem remaining was the textures maps were missing and I can't seem to export them since I'd be needing those to properly texture. Perhaps I've left out a step in exporting the mesh which lead to leaving out the texture maps?
maybenexttime
have you checked the file paths in nifskopes for the textures?
kokow
Perhaps the problem lies on exporting from 3ds max. I still need to study it out. Thanks anyways!
