Steam On C:/, Games on D:/

I reformatted and now I can't have mods working for Witcher 3. I even tried Stardew Valley... nothing. I can't get any mods to work. I even have SMAPI for Stardew.

 

Is it because I installed my games on D:/.. and Steam and Vortex is in C:/???

 

Pretty sure before, I was able to do it that way.

 

Does it matter where staging folder is. I read that it needs to be in same drive as the games?

 

Somethings messed up since I can't even load simple Stardew mods.

 

I've reinstalled Witcher 3 and Vortex multiple times..

Steam can be installed anywhere. Same goes for Vortex.

Game staging directories must be on the same drive as their game if you are using hard links.

 

Your problems sound related to how you uninstalled your games and mods before reformatting.

More info is needed.

 

And stop reinstalling Vortex and games. That is pretty much always overkill.
