Model Import

Hi,

some two days ago I got a bright idea to make a good F3 mod. (new race/weapons)

I already have models and half of the textures needed.

So, I' started with reading tons of docs and tuts. Alright.

What I did:

  1. Started with female model for a new race
  2. Cut off head and hands
  3. Exported to NIF using Max plug-in
  4. Copy-pasted NiTriStrips from my NIF to existing Caucasian model (they are simmilar somehow)
  5. Made some adjustments so "meat" parts match
  6. Model does show up in NifSkope but when I import it to GECK I simply can't see it

Seems like I'm doing it wrong.

Where's the problem?

I would appreciate any help.

Check your NiMaterialProperty, Alpha has to be set to 1 otherwise the item is see through. I think 3ds exports items with a default Alpha of .001 which is invisible.

 

At least that was the problem I had, and it took me a week and a half to find it.
