What gear do you carry?

Just wondering what "standard" gear other people carry out into the Wasteland when they leave for a new quest. I'm trying to get my character down to the least amount of gear for the largest carrying load payoff.

 

My character is basically small guns/explosives at the moment. (I play on hard difficulty, but am not yet man enough to try a melee character.) This is what I carry for a total of 126 pounds:

 

Weapons:

(I've been slacking off on limiting my weapons.)

 

Combat Shotgun

Frag Grenade (10)

Mesmetron

Whew, I tend to have the basic equipment with my female character.

 

Weapons

1. Combat Knife (always need a knife in the Wastes)

2. 10mm silenced Pistol (when you have to be sneaky)

3. 14mm Handgun (when you have to make a good first impression)

4. silenced Assault rifle (when just being sneaky isn't enough)

5. 5mm Achilles Assault Rifle (when being sneaky isn't an option at all)

6. silenced Victory Sniper Rifle (actually this one only serves me as binoculars)

7. 6 Frag Grenades (just in case, you never know)

 

Armor

1. Beret (I just like those)

2. Sunglasses (Like those even more)

3. Leather Armor (sturdy, easy to clean, blend in with the rest of the Wastelanders)

4. Chinese Stealth Suit (being sneaky again)

5. Colossus Power Armor (being sneaky AND deadly)

I tend to have random stuff mostly, but ALWAYS contains

 

weapons

 

1. Jingwei's Shock Sword (only for emergency purposes)

2. Gauss Rifle (main weapon)

3. Desert Eagle (for executions or in times of ammo crisis)

4. 10 frag grenades

5. 5 pulse grenades

 

armour

Chinese Stealth armour (only use the FOOK body part fpr the looks

Winterised T-51b armour and helmet (for when I become over-encumbered)

Nightvision Goggles

Armor is just for looks, since I am at level 20 with max stats I use the most from collecting pretty much every book.

AND I DON'T USE ANY CARRY MOD....SO THIS MEANS I'M A GOOD CALCULATOR :D

Eventually I got bored and put in a weight limit mod just out of laziness, and then started carrying like, 18 power armors at a time.

 

HOWEVER, before that, general loadout was something like-

 

Xuanlong Assault Rifle

The Terrible Shotgun

Wazer Wifle (pew pew)

Lincoln's Repeater

Ol' Painless

Tribal Power Armor

Leroux's Hockey Mask

SO MANY STIMPAKS OH GOD

A surprisingly large chunk of Rad-x and RadAway

A few Stealthboys (in the range of 5. More than that is really unnecessary.)

 

Generally speaking so long as I started with a decent amount of ammo for each, I'd never fully run out before everything was dead. Upon even SEEING a Behemoth, I'd Stealthboy, run, get my Fatman, and return to an area close by the Behemoth but not the same area (so if I saw him at Vault 101, I'd fast travel to Megaton, then run over to him.). Aside from that, maximize your ammo diversity and you should be set.

I see multiple people have modded weapons. I, however stuck to the game based ones. My weapons and armor selection consists of:

 

Weapons:

 

Hot key items:

 

Man Opener (Unique Steel Saw) - Use its anti-damage-resistance for taking down heavily armored enemies at close range.

Zu Rongs Chinese pistol (unique chinease pistol) - for weakening enemies from a safe distance and for "heating things up".

Wild Bills Sidearm (Unique 32. pistol) - Favorite past-time weapon, or for fragging ghouls, trogs or lower level supermutants.

Blackhawk (unique 44. Magnum) - for medium ranged sniping on Super Mutant Masters and Brutes, Enclave + Tesla, and Reavers.

Perferator (unique Infiltrator) - for quick, silent kills by head shot or massive crippling effect against annoying enemies (Talon Mercs)

Metal blaster (unique Lazer Rifle) - my I-do-not-want-to-deal-with-this-crap-right-now weapon. Leaves fights short + sweet.

Fat Man - because I do not want to waste the MIRV's mini-nukes, unless I am at a place with many people (Evergreen Mills).

Gauss Rifle - for holding down tough enemies such as Enclave Hellfire troops, Super Mutant Overlords, and Behemoths.

 

On stand by:

 

Heavy Incinerator - for taking out large parties of ghouls, mercs, or enclave (6 or more).
