Whiterun go boom

Well, crash anyway, but one can dream.

So, Whiterun, possibly the most used city in Skyrim, central trade hub and home to many hopes, dreams and tales.

And mine crashes as though thrown out of a plane. Anytime I enter the city, or a building, or exit a building, it freezes up on the loading screen, forcing me to ctrl alt del out of there. Amusingly, when I crash through exiting a door, the autosave picks me up on the other side, so I made my way through the city this way before I decided to ask for help.

The experienced among you no doubt k-now the problem I suffer from, the mod grabbag. I see mods, I like mods, I install mods, my system prays for a swift death. I have run Boss, and I uninstalled anything that might cause problems, but I still get the crashes.

The worse part is that this playthough had been through Whiterun once before. My character than ran off to hunt down the first dragonborn, and upon returning the crashes are many and annoying. Any help would be appreciated. Do I have too many extra NPC's? Are the better textures mixing up with the better whiterun? Are the mods good, but I installed some mid playthrough, so I should start over?

i'd say you have conflicts and out of date mods.

 

Purewater and WATER do the same thing, you can use only one.

Lose the 'Beautiful' town/city mods.

 

Have you run your mod list through BOSS to see if there's any errors/cleaning/updates?
