bluetunes3
I had this same problem when I initialy tried to download skyrim mods. I began running Mod manager as an administrator and the problem was fixed. This doesn't seem to work for Oblivion. Nor do any of the other suggestions given by the prompt. I have windows 7 64. Any ideas? I didn't see anyone else having this problem continuously. Thanks
Purr4me
tes game? ok, win64...ok. right click the folder from the explorer window of that game directory. properties. security tab.C:\Program Files\(x86)\Bethesda Softworksthe game directory is not open but you see it. rt click that.click the advanced tab.click "change permissions button"UNCHECK" inheritable permissions from this object's parentNow, the screen will ask you yes or no, you pick yes.this erases existing file permissions for that object, NO one has access to them, not even the system, only the desktop window manager has this. push apply button. then ok. then close the windows and repeat this all over again. 64bit is a slightly different animal compared to 32bit so some stages need repeating . on the permission tab, 2nd go round, you click the add button. For you, select the "EVERY ONE option this time.....64 bit may include a few more jumps? but you look for "find now button, that gets you into the system registry area and CMD is active there. once this is done. you push ok / apply which ever is appropriate for you. go to the directory and see if you can edit any files yet. If not? look at the files....do they have locks on them still? if so, repeat this procedure again, add only the username on the system that's logged on. same thing here too. try to edit the files. once you can edit any file there, you own it.good luck.
