Moonwulf
When I fired up the Creation kit today to work on my mod, I noticed a plugin named DEFAULT.esp, 1K in size was in my mod list, and was selected. I did not create the file nor did I download it, and am wondering where it came from. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks in advance.
gedocs1217
Has anyone already figured it out what is it for? I'm also curious. In my experience it does nothing. No matter if enabled or not. It has no masters in its file header and contains no data so probably a blank file? SkjoldBjorn
Sorry for Necroing this thread, but i put the solution to this problem here since this is the first result google gives if you search for "Default.esp". I searched hours for this until i started to try activating settings in the Render Window Properties, Somehow my settings was set to something wrong at some point ( probably me) It's because you have unchecked two things in the creation kit i will mark it below. Always have these checked or you will get an default.esp generated each time. Right click in your render window and click "Render Window Properties" or navigate to "File > Preferences" Navigate to the "Misc" Tab and make sure that these are checked: - Skip Initial User Plug-In Load ( This is the one that causes the creation of the Default.esp, it makes sense)- Skip Initial Cell Load On Editor Start (This one I'm not sure about, a google search turned up nothing.) But in the default settings that comes with the CK it's checked, so it's probably wise to leave it that way. or you can just delete your "SkyrimEditor.ini", but most modder use multiple masters and if you check the ones mentioned above you can keep them.
