SickleYield
Hi, all! I'm not sure how many of you this will actually reach, nor if anyone will be interested, but I thought it was worth a try. Is anyone interested in texture intercompatibility between your (and my) body mods? Breeze and I did this for his males and RMF3 on the quadrant system and it worked out well. What this means in terms of individual effort: -Shrinking the UV to 25% of its size and placing it in a corner (a quadrant).-Textures and normal maps ditto. Breeze and I used a 2048 template so the textures were each 1024; haven't yet checked if the game engine will choke on a 4x larger one so all textures are 2048.-This means each version of each body has to be reexported and set up in game again, although this shouldn't take long with new NIF scripts and the meat caps we've already got working. Cons/Problems: -Existing armors have to have new flesh pieces that match the new UVs.-With current tech only 4 texture sets would fit, and there are more than 4 female body mods in existence. Less of a problem for bodies that are sharing the default game's UV, since their textures are functionally intercompatible already. -Until there's a functional script for merging the quadrants, each person would have to release merged textures (i.e. I'd have to add yours to mine and vice versa). Why Bother? If textures are intercompatible, anyone can wear any armor for any body without texture errors. That is, people using UF3 can wear armors for Naouak's, Malo's, Growlf's, Type3, or BABE (or any others I missed) and people using any of those can wear UF3 armors. Nobody has to be limited in their use of certain outfits, and conversions of meshes are a bonus, not a necessity. It's fine with me if nobody is interested - it would mean a good amount of work for me since I've got six body versions plus breast size variants. :D Just thought I'd check since it worked out so well with the males. Kalten1979
Thats a nice idea, i think about it.And dont forget the Alphamap in the _n.ddsBut there are much more to do. Raiders Ghuls and Pitt people too.
Yossarian22
Amazing Idea. I really hope the creators of new bodys will find a way to communicate here. It would be a big help for everybody. Less stress for body maker and more free choices for players.

SickleYield
I haven't seen interest so far - consensus is that it's too much work. That's okay, though. It's still possible to use multiple bodies with different UVs by setting them up as different races (I'm using TypeV with UF3 this way).
Kalten1979
New Races are a bad idea.If someone want to play as Hispanic (and that is BABE Race) he cant use the clothes from Type3 or a other Armorwithout bugs. Then need every cloth a script, that checks the race. PzKpfwIV
I tried RMF3 body mods. Its a neat addition... But I got a problem when I want to apply the body mod to raiders--and raiders only. When I use GECK to do so, it seems the vanillar nude texture (the one with underwear) is missing its legs and upperbody. Any help? scratch that, even after reinstalling and attempting to combine the 'old' mesh (the full-set underwear) for the normal wastelanders and the nude for the raiders, the male version seems to always have a texture problems in its right hand and legs. I followed installation instructions, got the armor fix and everything from both RMF and BzMB and yet still I have glitches in the armor x_x I *almost* give up on this idea of combining the vanilla nude mesh and the new one. If its ok, anyone willing to put up a pluggin...?
Skree000
lots of studios have streamlined texture layouts for their characters, i know SOE has one for their characters in eq2 using 512s. This overhaul sounds like alot of work, however its benefits are obvious. Better to do this sooner than later.
