TrippyEyes
I just installed FO4 on a new laptop and wanted to get some of my favorite mods installed. After starting a new game I realized if I had any mods at all enabled, even ones that have no effect on appearences, my character will have the dark face glitch. Any ideas on what might be causing it?
Guest deleted34304850
that's not a vortex issue - its a long standing game engine bug - as far as i recall you can only resolve it by saving your game, going to desktop and restarting the game and reloading your save.you can probably get more help by posting in the fo4 forums. i havent played fo4 in months, so i'm going off memory really and thats how i always resolved it. rmm200
You might also look at how much VRAM your laptop GPU has, compared to your regular PC.Textures use a lot of VRAM.For run of the mill dark faces, I open the mod in the CK and export the facegens. Always works for me.
Solution Algabar Posted April 6, 2022 Solution Share Posted April 6, 2022 I also haven't played FO4 for some time. If I remember right, the black face glitch was introduced with the face textures of the official high res textures pack. Here's a fix:https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/21907 Alternatively, you can simply use custom face textures. That's what I did. I never had the black face glitch, although I have the high res pack installed.
