it still goes black screen after some minutes... this time i didn't restart but just waited,..after some seconds the screen shoes a msg about graphic error with nv4_disp i think abd it was like the picture i posted above...

This is a Video card error, most likely overheating.

You can try reinstalling your video card drivers.

Here is a utility that you can use to measure Temperatures: Pc Wizard

thanks for the replay.

i do not know a lot about overheating.

i use eversest to look at the temps. my dad cleaned it and told me the temp is ok.

right now this is the temps:

moterboard temp : 33

CPU temp 43-50

how do i reinstall video drivers. i don't remember how to uninstall them, and i never knew what drivers are the newest...

GPU temp looks OK, CPU is actually a little high for an idling computer.

How to rule out overheating?

If Oblivion will run with PC Wizard (or Everest) running in the background, try running it (Oblivion) for a few minutes. This will cause The temperatures to go up.

Alt Tab (if it will work) to PC-wizard (or Everest) and check temps. If either CPU or GPU has gone up by more than 10 or so degrees C, it's almost certain that this is a heat issue. (By the way, I don't know about Everest but PC-wizard does NOT dynamically update-you have to click the "refresh" button)

You can also try leaving the cover off the case and aiming a fan at the inside of the computer.

To update drivers: Go to device manager, select your video driver, check properties. This will give you version number and date of the driver. If it's a version from October or so of 2008 or later, it probably doesn't need to be updated. If it's earlier than that, select the update option.

Alternatively, you can go directly to nVidia's web site and download the current driver for YOUR 7300 GT card.

It is best to do the actual update from "safe mode"

Under any circumstances, you should create a "system restore" point before updating any drivers!!!

Good Luck.

ok here is the results:

9:55 temps: motherboard 31, CPU 43, GPU 46

10:03 temps: motherboard 32, CPU 50-52, GPU 50

10:08 temps: motherboard 33, CPU 49-51, GPU 51

Your temps are just fine.

The 7300GT card is at the low end of the 7000 series even if

the GT is the high end of the 7300. I expect this would be a 256meg card.

Be sure the drivers you are using are the correct ones for the card.

My second machine has a 7600GT/Athlon 2700. I am using ancient 163.75 drivers

on that machine with no problems.

That machine has two of the older grass reduction mods, and grass draw distance

is fairly low. I keep mods with high res textures to a min. , but do use the "modern" bodies

with 1024 X 1024 textures. I also use the orriginal distant LOD replacer w/ normalmap replacer.

You said you have edited your ini. Have you tried again with the stock

orriginal ini ?

Give Streamline v3 a try, but do study the "tombe of knowledge" when you use it.

ill try to get the correct drivers

I actually used oblivion with a ton of mods 4 months ago, using the default settings. now i use low settings and it crash.

I reinstalled the game a thousand time so i'm sure the .ini is default

sorry. didn't understood what you meant.

Streamline is a mod that helps keep your game running smoothly.

Check my comments on the thread about fps limits.

Not sure what you don't understand about the other part. The grass mods

are just some mods I use that help lower the requirements for rendering the grass.

Unfortualtely I have integrated these into a merged file, and do not recall

their names. One lowers the polygon count, and another make the grass shorter.

Still another removes the tileing to make the areas without grass long look better.

The body and distant LOD mods were just mentioned by way of example of

what I am able to get away with in relation to getting better than vanilla

graphics. Some of the new body textures are way up there - 2048 and higher.

The same is true of a lot of newer armors and clothes.

btw- FCOM didn't work for me. I prefer using OBMM to set my load order. The FCOM

load order is a good guideline, but sometimes you have to do you own tweaking.

That nv_4 error is a sign that windows does not like your drivers. I had that problem

on my newer machine when I installed the 180.-- drivers.

Nvidia driver numbering is confusing. Judging by the date. I think that you will find that that is

a 182.-- driver, and will work better with the newer cards.

Look for an older driver. Try for something from early 2008.

I think you will want to avoid ones that have the physX with them.

These would be 179.-- . or earlier.

Sorry I can't be more specific with the confusing system they use for their driver ID,

but the number you quoted is not the driver version #. I think it is a file #, but can't say for sure.

The installation package should have the actual driver version. If it came in a zip then the zip

may use the number you quoted.

EDIT: I think the nVidia site should have a place where you can access the older

drivers. The 163.75 drivers go back to 2007 I think. These older drivers are called Forceware

instead of geforce.

EDIT #2: Check with nvidia 163.75 goes back to 11/07 - geforce 175.19 to 7/08

There is also a geforce 178.13. Google nvidia then enter one of the above in the

"search nvidia.com" box.

well i tried the latest driver from 2 april. didn't work either....

anyway i downloaded 163.75 and ill try and update this msg... i used this site:

here

also maybe this will be useful: this one

EDIT:

laugh's on me. this old driver made my toolbars look like crap and it let me play oblivion for about 20 mins before crashing to desktop (at least this time i didn't need 2 restart...)

maybe now it was a diffrent problem ? because this time i didn't need to restart and my computer looks fine
