The Pitt - Problems in The Mill

I'm experiencing two problems with The Pitt DLC, both on the Mill map:

  • the ambient noise is missing, especially that of the forge presses, and
  • the "Ammo Production" option disappears from the terminal immediately after I'm granted access to the ammo press.

Does anyone have a clue what the problem is or, better yet, how to rectify these issues?

I'm running Fallout 3 under Windows XP Pro with FOMM v0.9.9 (Archive Invalidation active) and FOSE v1.1 beta2 (incl. 1.0, 1.1 & 1.4 dll's).

After encountering serious VATS glitches in Bethesda's latest v1.4.0.6 patch, I reverted to v1.0.0.15 und now use the Fake Patch as well as the Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch and The Pitt Crash Fix.

My load order is:

[X] Fallout3.esm

[X] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esp

[X] FakePatch_v1.4.0.6.esm

[X] Anchorage.esm

[X] ThePitt.esm

[X] The Pitt Crash Fix.esp

All three Pitt DLC files (ThePitt.esm, ThePitt - Main.bsa and ThePitt - Sounds.bsa) are located in my Fallout\Data Folder.

I've also added The Pitt's .bsa's into the [Archive] section of my FALLOUT.INI as follows:

SArchiveList=G4WLD.bsa, ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa, Fallout - Textures.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa, Fallout - Voices.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa, Fallout - MenuVoices.bsa, Fallout - Misc.bsa, Anchorage - Main.bsa, Anchorage - Sounds.bsa, ThePitt - Main.bsa, ThePitt - Sounds.bsa

Reshuffling the load order of my other mods or deactivating them entirely unfortunately didn't resolve the issues.

Any help would be appreciated. TIA.

What are the serious VATS glitches? I've never encountered them. :wallbash:

Anyway If you aren't, use the STABLE version of FOSE for 1.1 not the new beta.

As well I'm not really keen on load orders for the fake updates/patches as I personally don't use them.

As well if you use FOMM it "should" have detected The Pitt automatcilly and moved it, if not then maybe you have the wrong version.

The only thing I know is it's .esm before .esp.

Consider yourself lucky. Here's a few links to bring you up to speed:

FOSE v.1.1 beta 2 was recommended by the Fake Patch author JustinOther in his intro post on the BethSoft forums.

Whatever. In any case, the three The Pitt DLC files are in my Fallout\Data folder.

Not necessarily. Contrary to Oblivion, Fallout 3 doesn't mind .esp's loading before .esm's, and this is the order Justin specified in his relevant BethSoft and nexus forum threads.
