erikweige
I downloaded and installed Operation Anchorage and moved the files the FO3 data folder. I found the radio signal, entered the Metro, activated the Simulation Pod, and sat in the chair. The pod then does it funky worm-hole thing and the 'Loading Screen' appears - and then the game crashes with the Windows 'Fallout 3 has encountered and error and needs to close' message - everytime. I've searched through the forum and tried all seemingly relative solutions I foundI'm running XP SP3, Dual Core 3GHz, 6GB RAM, nVidia 8500GTS with up to date driver. I've patched FO3 up to 1.4.0.6.I've un- and re-installed the program and patches.I can use FOMM to manage mods and DLC but I'm not running any mods. The game runs fine otherwise (other than the usual crashes!) and I have finished all quests. I'm out of ideas an desperately need more.

erikweige
Yes, FO3 runs fine, with or without O:A installed. Do you mean download and reinstall Anchorage? Do I HAVE to be on LIVE to play?
IceDragon987
He means there is a possibility the files are corrupt. Redownload via windows live.use FOMM to move anchorage (it will do this automaticly)start the game and test it out again, then repost with your report. erikweige
Right, I've re-download and re-installed Anchorage from LIVE 3 times, and even tried a 3rd party copy from P2P source. It still crashes with the same error message. Subsequently, I downloaded The Pitt and I can load and play it fine. So in the meantime I can play that, and maybe someone will convince me that O:A isn't worth it anyway. I'd still like to play O:A eventually, though, and 'git me some pinko commie bastards. erikweige
Update: One month later; I've patched up to v1.5 and now OA runs fine. Looks like I'll get no work done tonight. Thanks everyone for their help.
