Mod confliction that screwed up one chunk of the map?

Recently after installing the druid mod something strange has been happening.

 

*The icon for the shortcut of the EXE has been removed, looking like some kind of white page with icons.

*At the part where you exit the bridge to the front of the IC at the Inn? yeah, If i so much as ANGRILY GLARE at that end, i lag, and crash, immediately, and if i load that save, then I can't seem to really load it, as it immediately crashes.

Mods you would never expect sometimes cause problems. A complete list in load order is needed for troubleshooting.

 

How to use OBMM to make a load order list for posting.

 

Open OBMM - if you don't have it, get it. It is needed for a lot of things when you work with mods.

 

Look on the right, you will see a box with 'Import/Export'. Click that.

Then select the first option, 'View Load Order'

 

A new window will open with only your active mods listed in their load order. Any unchecked mods will not appear in this list.

 

Use your mouse to highlight the entire list, then left click on the highlighted list.

 

A box will open with Cut, copy paste.

 

Select copy – DO NOT SELECT CUT!

 

Now you can close the window and close OBMM (This might take a few minutes as OBMM takes a while to close.)

 

Go to where you want to put the load order list – I recommend creating either a text document or a word processing document and naming it load order and the date

(load order 6-22-08.txt)

 

Then open that document, place your cursor at the beginning and right click. Select paste.

 

This should copy your load order into the document.

 

Now, to get the load order into a post, open the forum, find where you want to place the load order list and paste it. The copied text will be inserted where you place the mouse cursor.

 

 

Also, have you removed any mods that had something in that location? Sometimes removing a mod can cause a crash when there is something that a save says should be there and it is not.

By icon, i mean its a new icon entirely, like a error.

 

Its a white page, one end folded, with a tiny window on it with a green and red symbol.

 

For that section, i dont belive i have anything.

I also wish to know how to change this, i intend on making druid last.

 

EDIT: I should also let you know, that if i go AROUND it, by taking the other path, then get to the spot from another direction, i get no crashing.

To change load order, at the bottom of the OBMM screen there is a move up, down block. select the mod you want to move and click on up or down.

 

This new icon is on your map? I don't recognize it from your description. Does the druid mod change anything on the map? such as place something in that area?

All it does is adds a trigger and NPC to shadeleaf and dive rock.

 

 

Ooops, im terribly sorry, i should of been more specific.

 

 

I meant my desktop icon for the shortcut, the shortcut works, but the icon is broken, i dont know if it had anything to do with it.

 

And thanks, sorry if i sound new, this is the first time i have had a majorly complecated problem with mods.

Sometimes desktop Icons get glitched in windows. It might come back on its own, but to fix it manually, right click on the icon. At the bottom of the list you should see 'Properties' left click on it

Find and click on the shortcut tab at the top of the new window.

 

You should see a picture of the icon and a 'look for icons in this file' block.

That tells windows where to find the icon to use for that shortcut.

click on the browse block on the right. navigate through the file tree until you find the Oblivion folder,

look for the oblivion.ico and click on it. The icon picture should change to the Oblivion icon. If you don't like that one, look for another one to download online - any icon file (name.ico) will work.

Click the OK block

 

Done!

 

This works for almost any desktop icon. Very few of mine look anything like what came with Windows.

You have been a real help, ill get that fixed right up, and with my load order changed, im going to see if that earthmother will give me mah druid quests :I
