IceDragon987
I'll throw my 2 cents in: If you have properly patched Fallout 3 1.1 to Fallout 3 1.4 then do the following. Download Fomm (this).Install it; should look like this C:\Program Files\Fallout 3 (some form of that, yours may/will be different) Now disable Anchorage and the Pitt and laucnh Fallout 3 via FOMM (you'll see the start Fallout 3 button) (if it works continue below) Re-launch with Anchorage (if it works continue to the next step)Re-launc with Ancorage and The Pitt (if it works then happy playing. I always get that "Fallout 3 has crashed, you should tell microsoft [on it]" when I have mods that aren't compatable or are for the wrong version. (Fallout 1.1 O:A and The Pitt is really ment for 1.4) like i said, it's my 2 cents, and free.

mcooney11
I have the same problem........At first i was having a problem DOWNLOADING from the Microsoft "Games for Windows Service"...it would get to 53% after about 20 minutes and say it encountered a problem and immeditaley shoot to 100% and not work...after some tweaking i got it to download but i couldnt get it to open. I would get the whole FALLOUT3,exe APPLICATION ERROR the instruction at 0x00627180 ....."" ""... that other people were getting too. I finally downloaded the new version of microsoft .net framework and tried a bunch of different stuff and finally got it to open and was able to play for a bit before the game stopped working at my birthday party, so i loaded someone elses modded saved game and was able to play for a few hours, .... NOW one day later IM GETTING THE " FALLOUT3 has encountered a problem and must close".......this has been the most frustratingly buggy install/ execution ive ever encountered and im gradually thinking that this game is not about updating drivers, patching or video cards (which ive done all)....but more about just rolling the dice and crossing your fingers....the one thing that DID help me was putting this file into my fallout directory, its in the description of this youtube video ---> HERE I dont know the rhyme or reason but there is also another solution walkthrough towards the bottom (THIS FIXED THE APPLICATION ERROR, not the FALLOUT3 has encountered a problem ERROR) Any NEW advice would be appreciated..... Pray for me, A suicidal gamer
