gandalf91
I've been searching for a mod to affect gravity in a more lifelike way, particularly when jumping. However, I haven't had any real success. I tried some that claim to get rid of that aspect, when in fact they don't. They simply restrict the fJumpHeightMax parameter in the CS to a lower value. I thought I got the right one other time, only to find it didn't really work either. However I can't understand why. It changed a parameter fJumpFallVelocityMin which sounds likely to affect acceleration due to gravity. The wiki site dedicated to the TES CS even confirmed that this is indeed the parameter affecting fall velocity (higher gravity with a higher value, obviously). Default value is set to 600 in Oblivion.esm. This work I downloaded increases it to 700 with no noticeable difference. So I tried bumping it up to 900, 1000, and even 1500...nothing. In a drastic attempt I upped it to 15000, and still nothing. The fJumpHeightMin and Max work when I tweak them, as does the fall damage parameters, but not the one supposed for gravity. Not knowing much about the details of game engines guessed that maybe 600 was a max value restricted by the engine for some reason. So I tried lowering it to test this. I lowered it all the way to 10 so the character theoretically would practically leviate. And still nothing! Does anyone know why this fJumpFallVelocityMin appears to be obsolete? I really want a mod that rids the game of this disgustingly unreal low gravity. (And yes, I've heard excuses like maybe Nirn is a smaller planet with lower gravity, I just can't get by on that though like others can.) Does anyone know any possible way to mod around this. Simple tweaks would be nice, but even if some out of the way scripting is necessary, I think it'd be worth it (not that I could imagine the reason for that either with a function such as gravity). Thanks in advance for any help.

ihateregisteringeverywhere
Considering bethesda didn't program the gravity and physics themselves... It's most probably beyond the reach of real modification. The changes you made are probably the only thing you can really change.
gandalf91
Well that sucks, but you're probably right. I do however find it to be one on the biggest annoyances plaguing an otherwise phenomenal game.
