I realized I'm an addict for mods on fallout 4 a little over 169gb (600 mods) of the stuff on my main ssd and now its a little slow lmao so I wanted to clear it out but still keep the mods in the download folder so I don't need to spend days finding them on nexus again to re-install so I kinda just wanted to mass uninstall off the staging folder without removing them form vortex altogether but I have spent hours upon hours trying to find s*** and there's only two things people keep saying mass remove ( which I don't want cause then I need to find all mods again) or mass disable which again does not remove them off my staging folder so please for the love of god does anyone know how to mass uninstall mods and remove them from my ssd (staging folder) while still keeping them on my other hdd (download folder) so it's easy to re-install some without searching days on nexus again for the mods! Thank you

Whoops f*** sorry I just realized I should of put the problem in the topic to help people understand before reading honestly sorry I had a mind blank and was a little flustered lol

the downloads folder should contain the archives you downloaded - dont delete them otherwise you're off trying to find and redownload. so leave that alone.

to clean out your mod folder do as people have told you and purge/uninstall them using your mod manager (i assume vortex given you're posting here).

once you're done with the purge/uninstall/remove process - go to your data folder - it should now be empty. if it isn't, delete it completely then get steam to validate your game files, which will give you a completely vanilla game.

start it - it should start for you, completely unmodded.

then you're free to add whatever mods you want.

one thing to suggest - you may want to look at profiles in vortex, because you can make a completely empty profile that consists of nothing - clone that - then add mods as you want - you can always go back to the profile and clone it again and add different mods - thus creating unique games with unique mod load orders.
