I was playing the companions guild quest in skyrim special edition but while I was playing it I remembered that I used to have a mod downloaded for the companions and apparently before getting to the underforge the courier would give you a letter from the silverhand that tells you not to become a werewolf and to turn back and says that the companions are tricking you.
