Staging Folder Changed "choosing config over manifest doesn't update"

I had to perform a fresh windows 11 install after a constant crashes and freezes.

I didnt back up vortex. Actually i wasnt aware of the feature.

Anyhow after re-installing the program, i managed attach my games, keep the mods, lost the installed list but i can live with that.

Modding is an addiction unto itself as you already know.

Its working however:

one game of 3 does not show up when i launch vortex.

If i go into games and perform a full scan it finds the game. (Fallout 76)

Then it complains that the manifest location is set to the programdata folder on C drive while the config file is located on the g: drive (games drive in the vortex mods folder) which is the one i want.

If i choose to use the config location the game is there and it works fine.

If i quit vortex though the game is gone when i load it again and i have to redo the scan and the same "stage folder changed" dialogue box pops up again.

On the dialog box where it says select the one from config or manifest how to i get it to overwrite the manifest so i updates its record?

Also is there a place to set the default of manifest to your custom folder or do you have to always manually set it per game?

if nothing else is the manifest file editable with a text or hex editor so i can set the path directly?

Any help would be appreciated. Worst case i could attempt to delete but unsure if it would allow me to put it back in or complain about the manifest again.

Btw I tried to attach the vortex.log file 248K and then attach it as a vortex.7z file 15k. "I get an error here you aren't permitted to upload this kind of file." just in case you were going to ask for the log file.

Moot point now for me. I kept happening even after deleting the profile for the game in vortex. in the end i had to remove vortex delete all traces of the program in "programdata" and just keep the mod downloads. After that it all worked.
