x2006nvu
When I down load certain mods, like the akatosh mount, when the download is complete nothing actually shows up on my computer. I've downloaded it a few times, to make sure I just didn't save it to the wrong place, and searched my computer, but the file is never there. This has happened for a few other mods as well. What am I doing wrong? Please help.

KottonKing
Click Start\User\Downloads They might be there. That's where mine download too. But I use firefox so that's the default destination. :iluvff:
bben46
One of the wonderful features of windows. By default it places downloads in a hidden temp folder so you can't find them. Create a new folder somewhere that you can find, name it something like downloads. Then in your browser, set the default place to download to that folder. If you have already selected the 'do this automatically every time' box, you may have to dig down in your browser options to reset it to the new folder. x2006nvu
I mean I putting them in a certain downloads folder, and I can even see a shortcut to them in the my recent items on my start up menu, but when I click that start up menu option, it says it can't find the files, and I can't see the files in the spot that I downloaded them to. Does it matter that they are coming up as unknown file types before I download them? Do I need a certain software to use them maybe? In particular the Akatosh Mount By Saiden Storm R19 is one that gives me problems.
bben46
Unknown file type usually means you have no program associated with the file. Using windows, every file type must be associated with a program or Windows dosn't know what to do with it. For mods these are usually compressed files, .zip, .rar, .7z. You need a file unzipper program, and you need to associate each of these to that program. Here is my help file on how to associate files to 7-zip. It will work for other programs also if you choose to not use the completely FREE 7-zip program.http://s1.zetaboards.com/TheStormRavenLibr.../1387304/1/#new
