Teleport via Mages Guild with Expensive Prices

...I don't mind to continue with the portals, but it would leave more original objects intact.

Hey, how about in the basement, or upstairs where you would need a Mages Guild key to get there. I really would like the teleporters there, and if it is behind a locked door then normal "peasants" and the like could not get to them. I am pretty sure every Guild has a basement, that would be cool.

I think the Bruma one being in the Castle would make sense. The Bruma Monarchy likes to travel to get away from snow sometimes, so they asked the Mages Guild to put the transporter there so the common "rabble" would not see them going to the Guild for transport (it is, of course, still owned, run and used by Mage Guild members, just inside the Castle instead).

Really, anything that works is great. I would love to keep the teleport pads, they just look really cool. If the basements or upstairs would work, great. If not, I leave it to your discretion.

No its fine, i'll save it for another mod.

It's a good idea, the perspective is on mages guild members, so perhaps all the better if they are locked away.

Would you like them to be teleported to the lobby to the circles like in the 'Wizards Tower DLC', or just on the teleporters, more morrowind style?

---edit- On portals themselves is better, especially with one teleporter in Bruma Castle.--

To clarify some, when you payed your trip via the npc, you can walk to the teleporter. It will then send you directly to the payed location.

(that counts for all locations except the imperial city, which has a teleporter for each city.

except kvatch by the way.

Left that city out entirely for now. )

Haha, sorry for asking so much but there are so many options.

--edit2-- Toughest part has been done mostly, I expect it to be finished tomorrow with no big troubles.

Excellent, I really do appreciate it. Straight to the teleporter would be great! I am really psyched to give it a try. My guy is just now between the Mysterious Xarxes and Vampire part in the quest, and I have about $4,500 saved up. Will have to give the teleports a try as soon as I make some more money (probably go make a bunch of potions and sell them or clear a dungeon or two for cash and merchandise...SWEEEEEEET!).

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I encountered a influential problem. I have a problem with determining in which city you are. :wallbash:

I know now what caused it fortunately, but I have no time left for solving it. I have other matters to attend to right now.

The rest is working properly though, It only took more time then I expected.

I have made the gold dependent on which rank you have and how long you must travel.

they go from 6500 gold, for an associate, longest travel, 5000 shortest all the way up to

to 2000 gold, for an arch-mage, longest travel , 1000 shortest.

Next to that I've done some extra's but you'll see tomorrow

Sorry for today , I will continue tomorrow. I have plenty of time to clear it away.

Oh no, please, do not apologize at all. That sounds pretty much 100% AWESOME!!!

Please do not feel a big rush at all. I haven't even hit the Vampire cave, though that is where I am headed. As of now, I would have enough for one trip (I have approximately $6,000).

Is there any rank above Arch-Mage? I never made it that far (actually, the whole reason I started playing again was to finally finish the Master Quest which I started from scratch with this character). The only suggestion I might make is that if Arch-Mage means you are the Leader of the Guild, maybe let that guy ride for free. No biggie, if he has to pay he does. I must admit that what you have made so far sounds absolutely FANTASTIC! Just what I was hoping to find.

This is awesome, thanks so much for doing this mod!

So, keeps troubled. Every time you solve one thing, the others appear.

It is certainly not finished. But I'll give you this early version for testing

Perhaps there are more flaws than just the ones I found yet.

I've changed the Arch-Mage's options. As one you can chose now to pay or not.

I recommend sincerly you use a spare save game. (make one of your own progress and extra for testing)

And use it for testing only. For now only one trip is possible. And with some trouble, you could mess up your progress.

(in the save you us for testing). So far for the legal part

But you should give it a try and see if you see something, of have any suggestions.

(Gold amounts are easy to change. although I need 12 diffrent ones. Now I have from 6500 to 1000 in steps of 500)

And the rejecting after you agreed the first time does not work properly either. So be sure to have sufficient gold with you.

(but that will be ok I see now)

Thank in advance. I will continue on it again soon.

For else reading these posts. Yes it has bugs. So don't use it until it's ready :thanks:

WOW! What is in there so far is pretty cool.

Okay, here is what happened. I was in the town of Choral (next to Waynon Priory, I think that is the spelling) and went down into the basement. Portal there, said "portal closed" if I tried to use it, and the steward said hello, but only "rumors" was availabe as a speech option.

Started another save from Market District, went to the University and the door was there...the door, the stairway and the room of portals was PERFECT (except the door said "Arch-Mage Lobby" not "Portal Room" or something along those lines). The guy was there and I tried to teleport but could not purchase it. Then I realized he had only 93$, so I used a code to get 1,000,000. Then I teleported to Bruma and it was great; the pads I tried before finding Bruma kept saying "wrong portal" until I reached Bruma...nice touch! Then I teleported to Bruma's castle. That part worked perfectly. I would suggest some sound effect there, some "Whoosing" or something, even the sound of a door opening as you go from one world-space to another in the game-world.

Bruma was perfectly placed in the castle. The Steward there, though, was messed up. He was there, took an invisibility potion, then followed me where ever I went in the castle. No speech options at all came up. He followed me and HE initiated dialogue each time he caught up. The portal would not work sending me back. He would not stop going wherever I did.

During this, it occured to me, maybe it would be easier to make if there is just an altar there with a book or something, you pick your destination and pay? I LOVE the stewards, excellent work, but I don't know a think about scripting so I thought maybe an inanimate object instead of a person might not have these confusing script effects.

So far, the placement at Arcane University was perfect (but I would change the door's name), it really was exactly what I had envisioned when I wrote it; the Bruma portal was great and the Choral portal was great. I could teleport out of IC, but not from other cities.

That was all I had time to test right now.

So far

*positioning, look and feel is perfect!

*would add wooshing noise if possible, change Arcane Lobby door to portal-room name

*stewards, except the Imperial City, seem messed up, maybe an inanimate way of paying the toll would get rid of their odd behavior?

*Imperical City teleport to other cities seems to work, reverse seems broken (or from city-to-city won't work either)

Great idea. Should solve most problems immediately. Haha should have thought of this sooner.

Because now you had to wait a little before the script was finished. That's why the 'wait a moment' was there.

It requires some more work. But it'll work at least. The other things can be easily adjusted, most I already knew,

but they were to much to put in one Reply  . Next to that:

Not working in other city's, had something to do with scripts being placed inside IChub.

Perhaps i'll put a quest for going there first. Although, I think it isn't necessary after the changes.

The fact there is no sound is because, I haven't come to it yet. I'll be in next upload.

The Bruma-steward was a little joke I must admit, I got the wrong potion and didn't change it thereafter.

Funny though, that he followed you --appeared to be bugged in script--

I'll better start over. Most things I already know how to do now.

You'll hear some soon, perhaps already in the evening.

--will work on it later on , started from scratch, gives moments to test properly

, all is placed same though. (some exactly even)

Book idea, seems perfect. Decision must be made at book from now on

and it will take care for all scripting. Steward only needed for payment (not necessary but more interesting .

Must all be done yet though --

Very cool, I thought you would take out the Stewards in place of the book. Having the book there to choose location and the steward for money would be great. I was going to suggest maybe keeping the guy in the Imperial City, and then all others could be some kind of inanimate trigger. A book on an altar or table would be perfect.

Would you choose destination and then move over and pay the Steward, and then hop on the teleporter? or would you just choose destination and money and teleport happen instantly. That would be cool if you could choose from there, pay, then go. Any way that is easiest is fine with me. Just having the different pay grades and the ability to fast travel via teleport pads, but have it cost a good amount, is all I was looking for. Everything else is "icing-on-the-cake." What I saw so far looks great.

Thanks!
