But this will give some space thanks.Because I am almost definitely sure that working from the book will not give any problems. So that's easy.Adding using a portal and payment to the steward, could give problems. But I'll not be that awful like last time. But if you prefer using only the book, that's okay. I'll look on what is working first. Then scaling it up. ;) -- Book scripting done. Works perfect ---- Stewards finished ---- Second good results achieved. Having the stewards be interactive would be awesome, but if it ends up just a book on a pedestal where you have to pay your money, that would certainly still work. I will say, when I first saw the stewards I just went, "Ahh, cool!" so it would be great to have them in there and interactive. Even if they just stand there as decoration that could be cool. The important parts are the portals, the fee, and the actual teleportation. The room of the Arcane U.'s lobby was perfect, as was the portal in Choral and the one in Bruma Castle. Here is the second, almost totally new (all non visual mostly, that's the worst :sweat: ) second version. This time all is done from the book with each city has his own, meaning they all keep seperate variables-> no more bugging each other !After you chose a destination. The goldamount is calculated already and once displayed. After that when you talk to the steward, the steward handle the payment-part. After then, same old story (well, working this time fortunately :biggrin: ) So if you could do a test again like last time, it would be appreciated. I have done so much the same today, perhaps there aresome flaws I didn't see. I'll do an intensive check tomorrow. Will not work on it today anymore. :biggrin: (well for now then) Now almost everything is done, did you thought about if any quest should be added, so afterwards you could use teleportation?Could make the mod somehow complete. Just a minor one of course..., but i'll let It up to you. Ehm.. the things that you may see as a problem or are indeed, are : - I have put sounds and effects to all of the IC portals, tell which you would prefer(strange enough, teleportation from IC the sound is broken off, other cities don't have that though). Did the effects as a second recognition for finding the right portal and knowing its activated. - When you directly do a teleport back, you'll notice that the animation on the portal hasn't disappeared.(wasted almost an hour on this one) This is because it 'will' after you have been in some other cells. And that is caused because I'm not using doors but a direct transport. - Haven't checked if any time is changed :mellow: , could you do that? I don't think so but perhaps... - The (if I remember correctly) Anvil Steward has bad Mages Guild rumors. (no speech)I think this is because Bethesda didn't add any voices for female redguards. Hadn't noticed really before myself! Next to that I have the idea I forget somethin,g but I don't know what :smile: . Sunjah Posted April 14, 2009 Author Share Posted April 14, 2009 Sorry, had some job interview stuff to do. Must remember taxes, too. So far, I've noticed a few things. Massively positive, I'd say about 90%, so instead of listing those I'll just write the problem/suggestion stuff. Overall, looks fantastic! Here are some problems/suggestions*Cheydinhal- In the basement is a practice dummy, I'd get rid of that and move the portal. It sits, literally, in front of the bedroom door now. (I don't know if it the game that decides where things go, so maybe you just tell it to fit the portal and it stuck it there...if that is the case there isn't much to be done, but if they can be placed by hand I would definitely take out the dummy and put the portal in the corner). The stand and steward are great. *Skingrad- Portal is wedged into beds, as is the stand. Portal guy seemed fine. *Leyawin- Portal is perfect, guy was sitting on edge of bed (not sure if it was on purpose, but it looked great), the stand was right in the middle of a bed. *IC- Lots of good stuff. What is the "wood" on the walls for, right at bottom of stairs and where guy sits on the other side?-this happened in IC, don't know if it was on purpose or missing texture...when I paid to go to Bruma and then walked to portal, it was GLOWING PURPLE, which looked REALLY GREAT. It had that look of a missing texture, but actually looked unbelievably good. If it was possible to make the IC portals glow purple like that to signify which to step on, WOW, that would be coo. -The white glow seemed to stay all the time, the shimmering effect. Not the normal portal little flecks, but like a lighting that ran over the portals and never stopped (if possible, I think the purple LOOKED much better, was really far out...the little flecks up in the air were purple, too) *Choral- seemed fine, but steward would never stop driking. I stopped there for about 3 minutes to watch and she drank, drank and drank the whole time. Maybe have her drink, then stop for 5 minutes or something. *Bruma- perfect! *Anvil- I think it was fine, did not put any notes down. *Kvatch- HA! *Bravil- Same as Anvil, I think I checked it but did not have any notes down...probably means it was spot-on perfect. Fees seemed great. I was charged different amount from (I think) $6,500 to 5,000, but I know they were around that and seemed to be higher for larger distances. My guy is only an associate, so I could not check out how leveling affected price. All in all, looks good. A few of the cosmetics fixed from above will have this thing perfect! Thanks again! It thought it would be a good woosh sound, but it kept running and running. Did you already prefer one of those sounds?, didn't really noticed yet, perhaps leave it out at all?--edit, placed only in ic, just i didn't add any different spell effects in other city's-already thought the purple was good. Little bit big with all the purple sparkles though, but no less fun. Their just spell effects, the basic portal had one too. Probably tried and applied as they say. I just picked a few too.-you were correct about the lightning, but it is not a good option at all. Brought some bugs sometime like all portals suddenly had these effects, even those in the lobby of the IC. I had add the wood because, indeed some textures didn't match up. But I thought it could be also part of the story, that it wasn't available to teleport because of the danger of collapsing, or perhaps it already had before. I could get it out, but it requires more space then. 5 minutes will be difficult, because via the packages they do all things for an hour as minimum. But I didn't do anything cosmetic yet, first tried to see if all worked.Strange though that one of the stewards sat on a bed? Wished you had a screen shot. :) Writing all this, it may be better to add some space to the cells of the guilds. Perhaps by adding some room or small new cells. Mainly put just the portals where there was some space. But like cheydinhal I could simply remove the dummy, because it isn't used at all... in skingrad it could be placed one step backward, into a little space. But leyawiin poses some problem because its made of one big texture, not diffrent parts like the other ones, but moving the steward drinking beer to the other side is possible too. Say what you think about it and we could wrap it up and upload! --edit-- Changed Leyawiin, Cheydinhal and Skingrad. Moved the portal there, L more to the back. the others got additional space. Didn't delete anything. Gave all portals the 'purple' treatment.-- --trying to keep the posts limited ;). If you tried any other sounds of ic, or had some other suggestions, place them. It's primarily ice on the cake now ;) wondering if too place sounds at all, mostly they seem to be cut off in the middle, could place it elsewhere still. Pronam Posted April 27, 2009 Share Posted April 27, 2009 Owk Sunjah seems to be out for a while.....He hasn't been responding to my messages for some time..So I'll wrap the topic up. Reason for this post is, if anyone had some suggestions for a quest, before I upload it. A summary: This mod will add Mages Guild portals, a destination book and a steward to each city. The teleportation goes as follows. You'll pick a destination from the book. It will calculate the prices for you. Depending on your rank and the distance . You'll pay it (non-voice) at the steward.Then the portal will glow up, and you can travel to each guild, with just one portal.(exception for the IC, that has a portal for each city) Notes, Bruma has its portal inside Bruma-castle for practical reasons. Kvatch has none.Of course, the prices are a lot higher as in other mods.... My question is, if anyone can maybe add something to this idea. I'm thinking about a questinvolving this, so you aren't allowed to use them until you've completed it. -the only thing we had, was that the IC-portal room has been repaired recently. It has some wood againstone wall, as it has collapsed or something....(mixup with statics, but kept it in for fun.) got more projects too , so I'm a bit out of ideas without using from the other ones.. Many thanks if someone could contribute to this mod. (Of course credits will be added, if wanted.) (perhaps all is not needed, If Sunjah agrees, we could continue, here is an upload for you SunjahOk got the good one now, don't mind its a rar?)
