angrydinosaur
Hello everyone, I am completely new to the concept of making mods in pretty much any game. I had an idea for a mod for Skyrim and wanted to get an idea of how hard it would be for a complete novice to make and whether it is even possible. It's basically a collect-a-thon mod in concept. Here's the gist with an example...,The mod would place a random item from a set on random NPCs that meet a specific criteria, which the player collects and then places into a special display case for rewards.Lets say as an example... pokemon cards. Each time you kill a specific type of NPC.. lets say, it has to be a male spell caster, there is a chance he will have a pokemon card chosen at random from a set.Not only that, but unique NPCs may have specific ones that are not in the random set.. so the lets say the dragon priests each have a unique card that only they have.Once you get all the cards in a set - lets say fire type - you put them in a special display case object, and in return it unlocks a door (or maybe gives you the key to a door that is locked and cannot be picked)Behind the door would be an armor set or a item that gives you a power in the game or maybe even follower.I would feasibly want to make it so (in this example) there is an individual door for different sets. So a door when you get all the fire ones , a door when you get all then water ones etc, and even a door when you get them all and each one has a reward behind it.I am just using pokemon cards as a place holder.. could be weapon types, armor types, etcThe questions are:How hard would this be to do assuming I had all the graphic and texture assets? How granular can I get on where the cards would be found? For example, could I say "put this item only on undead creatures, but never skeletons, and never in a container (such as a chest or a dead draugr)?" Thanks in advance for any guidance!
