Azelka
Might I ask, when you say you want to edit it all of it do you mean that you want to change how the HUD works, possibly add some new elements, and so on, or are you just looking to change the icons that appear in-game already? If you are, do you just want to change how they look, or what they do? If you're just trying to change how they look you ought to look at the textures, rather than the XML files. If you want to change how they work though, just ignore this post, since you're already looking at the correct files for that. :smile:Yeah, where are the textures? Jojash
Okay, have you extracted the Fallout - Textures.bsa and Fallout - Textures2.bsa archives as jazzisparis outlined previously? If you have, you should be able to find the textures in, "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\Data\Textures\interface\hud". If not, you'll need to extract those archives first. After that you'll need to open them in either GIMP, Photoshop, or whatever you prefer to use to edit images, so long as it has the capability to open .dds files. If you use GIMP but you haven't used it for editing New Vegas's textures before, you'll need a plugin, which you can find pretty easily via Google, to be able to open .dds files. irswat
why are the dds files white/transparent? How do I view them with textures and color?http://i57.tinypic.com/t6s56f.pngHow do I open the New Vegas default HUD in GIMP (e.g. which dds files make up the HUD)? Jojash
The textures do not have colour because their colour is defined within the XML files, this is the reason why you can switch between colours for your HUD by default. As for your second question, look in: "Textures\interface\hud".
