Ryker61
Today, after buying the add-ons Dragonborn and Dawnguard, I decided to go ahead and download the mod The Dance of Death 4-0 Ultimate Edition. I downloaded the mod and activated it. But when I went to start the game, it got past the Bethesda logo, then crashed to the desktop. I tried a second time with the same result, so I decided to experiment. I deactivated TDoD and started up Skyrim. The game loaded up without incident. I quit out of the game, reactivated TDoD, and started up Skyrim. Immediately after the Bethesda logo faded to black, the game crashed straight to the desktop. So, there apparently is something wrong with TDoD, I just don't know what. I left a comment on the mod's page but no one's responded so far. Has anyone encountered this problem before or is it just me. For reference, here's a list of the mods I'm currently running:35Th Nightingale -- Wanderer Armor with ScarfaMidianBorn Book of Silence - ArmorsaMidianBorn Book of Silence - CreaturesaMidianBorn Book of Silence - Unique ItemsaMidianBorn Book of Silence - WeaponsConvenient HorsesHeart of the Beast - Werewolf Sound & Texture OverhaulImmersive ArmorsImmersive WeaponsPortable CampsiteSkyUI So, if anyone knows what's going on, I'd really appreciate any help that you can give me. Treplos
Are you using BOSS to sort the load order? If not, use it and see if that fixes it.

Ryker61
Okay, I'm looking at BOSS: User Rules Manager right now (I'm assuming that's the right window to look at). On the far right, underneath the Installed Plugins tab I have the following listed: Skyrim.esmUpdate.esmDawnguard.esmDragonborn.esmSPIKE.esm(no idea what that is so I'm going to assume it's important)HighResTexturePack01.espHighResTexturePack02.espHighResTexturePack03.espPortable Campsite.espConvenient Horses.espSkyUI.esphothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.espImmersive Weapons.espWanderer Armor.espaMidianborn_Skyforge_Weapons.esp I still have TDoD in NMM, but it's not activated right now. I don't have any other animation mods installed right now, as TDoD is the only one I plan to use, once I get it working right. There's a box labled User Rules, which is currently blank. And below that is the Rule Editor, with nothing selected, and to the right of that is the Default Plugin Messages box, which is also empty. I'm not sure what to look for at the moment, so if someone can point me in the right direction that would be awesome.
Treplos
In BOSS, User Rules Manager allows you to make custom rules so you can place mods in the order you like. The way to do it is this. Let us say you want to place Convenient Horses.esp after SkyUI.esp. - Look at "Installed Plugins" window on the right side.- drag CH to the left side, toward the "Rule Editor" on the bottom half.- place CH inside the box next to "For".- click "Sort Item" check box.- click the drop-down menu next to it and chose "after".- drag SkyUI from the right side to the left side.- place SkyUI inside the box next to "after".- click the "Create New Rule" button at the bottom.- a new rule will be created. You can do this to any number of mods you want.Next time you run BOSS, it will take this new rule into account and place CH after SkyUI. ------- Back to your issue. "Spike.esm" is needed for "Immersive Armors" mod. Their next update will drop it though AFAIK. - I use TDoD without issues, with almost all the mods you are using, except for "Portable Campsite" and aMidianborn Skyforge Weapons".Try placing TDoD at the end of your load order and see if that works. - Also, try this. Disable all mods except TDoD and play a fresh, new game (for test purposes) and see if you crash. Edited October 2, 2013 by Treplos
Ryker61
Okay, there's something wrong with TDoD. I tried the last suggestion you made, which was to disable all mods except TDoD and start a fresh new game for testing, and the same thing happened. The game crashed back to the desktop immediatly after the Bethesda logo. I have the most current version of the mod though, ver 4.0. And the mod author has three different ones to select from The Dance of Death 4-0, The Dance of Death 4-0 - Dawnguard Edition which requires Dawnguard, and The Dance of Death 4-0 - Ultimate Edition which requires Dawnguard and Dragonborn (TDoD 4-0 - UE is the version I have). And of course, they all require the most current versions of SKSE and SkyUI or higher, which I have. I'm essentially up to date on the requirements, so it makes no sense that the mod is causing the game to crash. I even tried starting the game with just SkyUI and the TDoD mod activated, and still the game crashed. When the mod is activated, it's at the bottom of the plug-in list. I downloaded ver 4.0 but is it possible I downloaded the wrong mod? Do I need to download TDoD 4-0 before I download TDoD 4-0 - UE? Update: I decided to try something different. I went ahead and deleted TDoD 4-0 - UE, and downloaded and activated TDoD 4-0, and loaded up Skyrim. The game loaded and started normally. So this tells me there's something wrong with the Ultimate Edition of TDoD, cause the standard version appears to be working fine. Miguelr23
you're crashing after beteshda logo because your mod/mods are missing a master filesince you have the ultimate edition you must have both Dawnguard and Dragonborn (dont forget to enable them)if you have all that enable skyui run boss and try again(you must have the lastest Skse version http://skse.silverlock.org/also the ultimate edition is standalone you dont need the normal DoD Edited October 2, 2013 by Miguelr23
