The Dance of Death mod is crashing Skyrim

in the launcher go to data files and check dawnguard and dragonborn

btw are you launching the game via the skse loader?

What Launcher? Steam? When I downloaded SKSE, it placed an icon on my desktop labeled Skyrim (SKSE). I've been using that to start the game.

Update: Okay, I used steam to launch Skyrim. I started up the game, after checking to see if Dawnguard and DragonBorn were both checked off in the Data Files, and they were. However, when I loaded up a saved game, I got this message:

SkyUI Error Code 1

The Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) is not running. SkyUI will not work correctly(SkyUI works, but there's two problems. There's a slight delay when opening the inventory menu, all of the inventory icons are now boxes, and MCM is gone from the System menu).

This message may also appear if a new Skyrim Patch has been released. In this case, wait until SKSE has been updated, then install the new version.

For help, see the SkyUI mod description.

Now, I have the most current version of SkyUI and there hasn't been any patches released for Skyrim. So Now I don't know what's going on.

Dude, sorry to say that, but you dont get how it works)

You say that you use NMM and BOSS

Then how you missed DG and DB being not active?

When on the mod page says you need a dlc, this means you need it to be active, not just installed, so that the content can be used by mods.

Anyway, check in NMM if all the ESPs are active and in the right order. Then launch your game with SKSE.

When you launch game using steam, it does not use skse, which causes all kinds of issues with mods that depend on skse.

This is why you got a UI error.

"Dude, sorry to say that, but you don't get how it works)". No offense dude, but it's easy for you to say that because you've been messing around with mods longer than I have. I only started playing around with mods last month. And I'm here asking questions in order to understand what I'm doing.

"You say that you use NMM and BOSS, then how you missed DG and DB not being active?"" The only reason why I missed them not being active is because they weren't listed in the Plug in tab to begin with. When I realized that, it boiled down to a simple solution that I, admitedley, didn't consider or think to do after I bought them. I had NMM open at the time I purchased DG and DB. What I didn't realize at the time was in order for them to show up in NMM's Plug-in tab, I had to close down NMM, and re-open it. I did just that, and lo and behold, there they were, listed in the Plug-In tab and already checked. After which, I removed TDoD from the mods list and replaced it with TDoD UE, and started the game. Everything started up without incident, and I can safely say this issue has been resolved. Thanks to everyone who helped me with this problem.

I did not mean to insult you, and i immediatly understood that you are new to modding

So yeah, obviously you need to restart programms in cases like this)

I would recommend you to use a "launch custom skyrim" in NMM. this way you can launch skse right throught the manager itself. Useful, when adding/removing mods.
