Eisegreis
As much as I appreciate the modding support, I would have to agree that the topic for the contest is a bit restrictive. While we are on the topic, the almost-complete "The Refuge" has a newly rediscovered L' Enfant Metro Station in it as part of one of the 6 currently implemented quests. I am always looking for people who interested in quest mods. :) In terms of the contest, if I finish "The Refuge" quick enough, I will try to implement and submit a Vault 111 (thought to have been destroyed in an earthquake), a sister vault to 101 that is referred to many times during the course of "The Refuge" and the prequel quest "The Secret of the Mole Rat Maze". I am still trying to figure out how it can meet criteria for this contest though... The good news is that I already have the vault 111 suits made up so at least the people will look smart. It needed to be restricted somewhat, it's a contest after all and you need to have some guidelines along which you compare things. How would you judge something if one modder sends a vault, another sends a quest and a third sends a new faction of super mutants?Same goes for the limitation of no user-made resources - this contest is meant to be open for new modders as well. I think you can agree that new modders would quickly get discouraged if they see the more experienced in this field start dishing out new models, textures etc. If you have something that uses new resources then my humble suggestion would be to make two versions - one "reduced" version where you replace the new with something from the original resources and one "extended" version that received the full benefit of the additional efforts. I'd even go so far and ask you to send in both if you participate. And lastly I'd like to ask people again - even if you might not be able to participate in the drawing of winnings you can still send in your mods. We've already discussed this and were thinking along the lines of honorable mentions. The US only is something that is rooted in legal and frankly not something most of us are happy with, either. Eisegreis
Time for a quick bump before this is completely forgotten.Frankly I'm somewhat taken back by the lack of enthusiasm. No one really cares? Oo
Yossarian22
Time for a quick bump before this is completely forgotten.Frankly I'm somewhat taken back by the lack of enthusiasm. No one really cares? Oo I think its not about lack of enthusiasm, but more that not many are actually skilled enough to make a suitable mod in a short period of time and those with the skills are mostly busy with their own projects (myself for example). MajorGunn
I agree with Yossarian. Not that I would participate if I was good, but because I hate the current vault sizes and this amount of time is not going to produce the vaults fallout really needs to see. Eisegreis
Just a quick reminder - this is still on, and there's still a few days until it's over.So if you're not working on something yet, take your chances and participate. Best of luck.
Pax1138
On it. I actually was going to enter by the first date and even worked overtime the last few days before the original due date. Then when I showed up to PlanetFallout and discovered the date had been pushed back, I was too burnt out to go back and work on it anymore until, oh, today. I'll have something for the contest at least, though. -Pax
