darkus37
Hello, I'm trying to create a cave hidden behind a waterfall. I have the cave entrance already created and even a possible exit point for the water. This waterfall should fall into an already created deep pit and some sewer exits that keep it from overflowing. A walkway (actually a secret door) is triggered at both ends that allow access to and from the cave. What I would like to do is to control the waterfall like a faucet, so that when the walkway is withdrawn, there is a waterfall, when it is extended, the waterfall is turned off. I want it to look legitimate so I imagine there has to be fog visual effects that turn on an off also. If anyone knows how to do this, it would be much appreciated - I should mention that I have no idea how to use scripts and that it really excited me when I just barely managed to figure out how to use the secret door so if anyone figures out how to do it, I would really need a step-by-step explanation. Thanks. Also, if anyone knows: I need to create an item that you keep in your inventory that acts like a remote control when you pass certain locations - for example, I pass point A and that opens a door at point B. When I pass point B and reach point C, the door should close again and for it also to work in reverse. For a visual, anyone who saw the first Batman movie (the one with Michael Keaton) and he takes the reporter (Kim Basinger) to the Batcave and it looks like he's about to smash the Batmobile into a wall when it suddenly collapses in front of the car and when they pass, the reporter looks back to see the wall go up again. I don't know how to do any of these things so a step by step explanation of how to create these trigger points and spells/scripts would also be needed. Thanks again. darkus37
Thanks for your reply, unfortunately I have no idea how to use nifscope or how to edit anything in it. I tried to read the tutorials but nothing really stuck with me. I thought about perhaps their being some sort of in-game faucet that I could just trigger on and off but I haven't found anything like that. Thanks anyway. cj577
Try this link it will help you understand NifSkope and how to use it. also Try TES Wiki. Also try the Forums here or at Bethseda they both have many posts on using NifSkope! Here's how to adjust size in NifSkope;1. Click the object in the render window and it should bring you to the NiTriStrips. Right-click and select >Transform >Scale Vertices 2. A box pops open with the X, Y and Z axis for you to change. I always have to play with it until I get the right axis that I want changed. If you want to get rid of the shadow, instead of making it very small, just do this: 1. Right-click the NiTriStrip you want to remove. 2. >Block >Remove Branch. The shadow will now be gone and not render anymore. If you want to move a NiTriStrips into another position, you can do this by: 1. Right-click the NiTriStrip 2. >Block >Edit. You can now adjust the coordinates of the object to place it where you want it. -------------------------------------------------------------------If make a mistake and need to go back to original, do this,,,,,Close Nifskope without saving the mesh and start over. Naturally with this method, when you edit a mesh on one little, thing, and you like it, then save it and continue editing. When you do something you dont like, you have the old save to go back to after quitting Nifskope. I will also make copies of the mesh at different stages and when I get it the way I like, delete all the copies. Good Luck. CJ
