sleekblind
I have tried mp3, ogg, wav, all mono, 16-bit, 44khz, all of them work in GECK but every time I load up the game, my companion remains silent. I keep going through tutorials and I don't see that I am doing anything different than I should be. Companion has its own voice type, the quest with the dialogue has "getisvoicetype" condition set to this voicetype and "getisid" set to the npc, have tried with the voicetype "allow default dialogue" checked and unchecked... nothing seems to work. sleekblind
This IS my first time adding voice files to dialogue, by the way.
rickerhk
If the sound works in the Geck but not in-game I would think maybe the quest isn't running? Or is the text showing, but no sound - are you renaming the esp for testing in game (I used to work as esp in Geck, then esm test in-game and the sound path would then be invalid).ogg, 44100hz, 16bit mono should work fine. That's what all the voice files in the game voice BSA are formatted as.And I've always left 'allow default dialog' un-checked for new voice types since there won't be any generic dialog available anyway. sleekblind
The quest is running, the text shows up in game like it always has. Everything is in ESP form at the moment, I would have to rename the folder if/when i change to esm format. I have the voice files floating free, outside of the bsa, but I did try adding to the bsa at one point and it didn't help.

ToxicWhiteout
You need to put the audio files in the exact right spot. Use this tutorial if you need one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvQCChzifyQ The main reason voice files/weapon files don't work is because they need to be in the exact folder. sleekblind
That's the exact tutorial I am following. I have all the files in the exact location they need to be- they even work when I preview them in geck! But when I load the game up, none of the audio files are played. There is only the text I entered.
ToxicWhiteout
Did you make sure to get the correct file names? You can also try this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWtIRBPVedw This guy has some fantastic Geck tutorials.
sleekblind
Yes, sir. I even went so far as to record the files in geck, then move my audio files in again and over-write the ones the geck created, just to be 100% sure I had the file names and paths correct.
