Hand texture not applying in Geck and pink hands

Hello everyone!

 

I swear I searched a lot about hand texture problems before asking for help but didn't find any solution so far, problems with hand textures here happen since 2010 but no conclusive fixes exist yet.

 

So, I'm not a novice in the GECK and I have never had any problems with custom races, I had an old copy of New Vegas and used my own races just fine. Now I have the Steam Version and everything is pretty much the same except for that nasty pink hand problem. It is such weird for me because the problem only consists in the game not acknowledging the texture. I'm sure that's the case because the handmale.dds texture that I extracted (being that the default one) never change in game, I change the color, put tattoo vectors, etc. but it still uses the one in the .BSA (apparently). It is in the right directory I guarantee!!

When I change the texture file directory in geck, for example making it character-male-handmalecustom.dds, it makes the game not recognize the texture and turn pink.

 

Possible solutions I could find (but didn't):

 

-Force the game to recognize my textures and stop trying to use the one in .BSA.

-Finding exactly what the problem is.

-Finding out why my last game didn't have this problem and know it has.

-Praying to Julianos (the god of wisdom in skyrim -I guess-).

 

PALEAAASE help me!!

Did you toggle Archive Invalidation in NMM? That's helped me with a pink-headed custom race.

 

If that doesn't work, try opening the custom hand mesh in Nifskope and linking the texture to it there. The mesh might be having a hard time finding its texture.
