mods not showing up in oblivion

ok well i have lots of mods that simple just don't show up in oblivion. here are some examples:

alexanders wings

assissin blade

bonds firebird

bleach overhaul

and many others of the sort.

most of these mods are somehow conected to the imperial city but lots aren't, i would like to know, is there a reason for these mods simply just not being exactly where they are suppossed be, ingame?

i currently do not have the official patch installed, but as for most of these mods do not require the patch. Also i use many other mods that work just fine but, some just refuse to show up and the ones i would like to use most.

any help on this subject is very welcome.

also if you are a sufferer of the same game mod symptoms. please feel free to post here.

If you have alot of mods installed and some arent showing up, it's highly likely that some of them are conflicting with others. For example, if you have 2 mods that change the same object in game (e.g. a crate or vendor that you get your mod items from, or maybe they both modify the same area of landscape, or 2 items may have the same ID code) then the one later in the load order (by default the one that was modified or created at a later date) will get priority and the other won't show up. Also, I would deffinitly recomend updating to the latest patch, as some mods might require it and the author forgot to say so in the readme.

yes yes ofcourse, I know about conflicts between mods. I will give a very specific example. OK I added bleach overhaul, it didnt show up. I added alexanders wings it also didnt show up both add their items near the statue in the imperial city. then i loaded final fantasy xii weapon mod, which also puts items infront of the stautue in the imperial city market. It showed up as it was supposed to. so can you now truly say that it was a same space error? i highly doubt it i do use obmm and the order is: bleach overhaul, alexs' wings then ffxii weps. but the last one is the only one that worked?

I have many such mods, that just simply wont show up. there is no mod that effects the area where the bond firebird is supposed to be and yet its just not there.

any thoughts on this are truly welcome, also if you need more examples i will be happy to name 20-30 mods that are unexplainably not showing up.

thanks. DREZ

install the official patch.most mods are created utilising it even if it isn't stated. Secondly don't install a bunch of mods all at once.Install one,go in game, make sure it works before adding another. you'll save yourself problems. use OBMM it will aid installation and notify of conflicts

"yes yes ofcourse, I know about conflicts between mods"

"so can you now truly say that it was a same space error? i highly doubt it"

Learn some manners if you want help. I replied with the most likely cause of the problem, usualy it's the simple things that are the problem and people just don't know about it. No way I could have known that you know about those things already is there. Still I deffinitly agree with what Dezdimona said, install the update, most people have, which means that any mods made since the patch probably require the patch whether they state it or not.

Whenever I see that someone has not installed the latest FREE patch I suspect they acquired their game by downloading, either from a site such as D2D which charges for content, or illegally. The FREE Bethesda patch will not work with either. Neither will a lot of other stuff, like OBSE which is also needed for a lot of mods, and some mods.

If you got your game through a legal source, there is no reason not to patch it. If not. Buy the game, don't be a cheapskate.

For the Free Bethesda patch, go here. http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_patches.htm

Be sure to use the patch for your language version. Not there are 2 English patches, US & UK - and they are different.

ok well 1st to the person who called me rude. i was simply using good langauge, i wasnt being rude. secondly when giving advice you don't assume that the person knows less than you. simply that they have overlooked something.

i have found the problem for most of the mods and i now have both the official, unofficial patches and OBSE installed. but still there are a hand full of Mods that have not shown up ingame even when they do not conflict with anything. i repeatedly check for conflicts, many of the mods that conflict with eachother still work, strangely enough. for example if any of you have used the mod, samurai in cyrodill. in this mod it adds a bunch of samurai and new textures and meshes to the game but, all the kimonos make the player invisible. whereas the other items eg. the new kitana, the ronin braces, hats and skirts all work, yet the kimono doesnt. strange things like this that i simply cannot find the cause of, it doesnt conflict with any other mods and i have placed the meshes and textures in the correct place and yet it still makes the player invisible. also i have added various island mods near the anvil bay area. 1 by 1 i tried out these island mods but most simply just didnt shpow up. if you think you know why please do tell.

1 last thing the mod sutch reborn and a few others like it, simply crash oblivion when i try to use them. if i have somehow overlooked something please do tell.

thank you for your help so far, but the true intention of this topic was for anyone with similiar problems to get help from this topic. at the same time i just wanted to discuss some of my various mod problems.

I wouldn't worry too much about the conflict detector. It may be helpful in determining

load order on occasion.

I would have to say though that mods (almost all) simply do not - simply not work.

There must something wrong in the installation.

My Firebird is right were it should be. I have use A's wing in the past -

they were right were they should be.

When checking on problems with a mod never assume that any part of the installation

is correct. Everything must be checked, really checked - not glossed over.

I have no experience with "Samurai in Cyrodill" , but the kimonos from "Akaviri Kojima" work

correctly. And the island is there (can't see it from shore most of the time).

It should be possible to fix your kimonos in CS. If they are set up incorrectly in the mod

they would be using the foot and hand slots as well as the upper and lower body slots.

If that is not the case then the mod is likely installed incorrectly.

One thing is possible with the missing crates in IC. Do you have mods

that add extra clutter to the IC ? It may be that mod, if loaded after the ones in question,

is overwriting them.
