Is this normal?

I just installed Fallout 3 and downloaded some mods for the game. I go to install them (or put them in the data folder I guess) and there is almost nothing in there. No folders named "Textures" or "Meshes" etc, etc.

Is this normal? Am I supposed to patch the game or play it before the folders are created?

Also, I don't have a FALLOUT.ini in my My Documents folder, and I don't have a ArchiveInvalidation text thing... am I supposed to create one? I have no idea.

Please someone help. I really want to get this working.

Thanks in advance,

Koola1d

PS- I have Vista if it helps...

From my memory, there are no texture/mesh/sound folders already in the Data folder without any mods. I could be wrong though.

To find your Fallout.ini go to My Documents -> My Games -> Fallout3

Your Fallout.ini and FalloutPrefs.ini are the files you would edit in order to use mods (usually you just edit the line "bInvalidateOlderFiles=0").

You may also want to look into getting ArchiveInvalidatoin Invalidated found here: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=944

Edit: Please, don't flame me about the JoJo Fashion Show crap on my computer, it's my little sister's. I swear! :P

I'm sure... :whistling:

Anyway, I figured it out right before I came on to check this, but thanks for the information anyway.
