Orgainized Loading Request

I, probably like many others, like to keep a long record of save data for a particular character. It gets annoying when I want to create a new character and I have a lot of saves for the new one and when I want to play the first character again I have to dig through many saves to find it. It's worse when the new character's auto-save replaced an older character's auto-save that perhaps was the most recent save for that character. It would be nice if the save folder was organized such that each character had a folder of their own, the folder's name being the character's name, and when you go to load a game you select the folder first, then all the saves for that character appear there.

There are some utilities that you can download on this site that will do this. But none of them are in-game loaders that override default save and loading functions which is the subject of this request. I tried searching and either topics similar to this didn't have a good name or I didn't see them. I can imagine it being requested, but I can't find it or the results that came from similar requests.

Is this sort of thing possible to do in-game? Even with OBSE for instance? I know you can create custom menus and such, so perhaps it is possible to replace the entire load menu with a new one that emulates this behavior? I don't have modding abilities, though I am a computer science student and could probably toy with it if it is possible but no modders want to work on such a thing. Any experienced modders know of the current limits as it relates to this idea?

Thanks in advance.

Ha ha, on second thought, this probably is really beyond the capabilities of the game engine. I decided to play with the idea simply by seeing if using the console command "save <character_name>\foo" would result in creating a folder named <character_name> and in it, a save file called "foo". Well, it created a save file named <character_name> and crashed when you attempt to load it. Doesn't look like there is a way to save things into another directory using basic functions like that at least.

If anyone does have any ideas on how this could be done though, feel free to post them.
