Resident Evil 5: New Content

Between a friend and I, we found the game to be extremely difficult unless playing co-op. The computer AI always runs into danger and wastes all their ammo, then starts screaming for help. Two player however is intense and extremely enjoyable. It's just great to be able to run through Resident Evil together. We always used the trick from RE4 to get extra ammo, whenever you upgrade the capacity of a weapon, it's automatically refilled. That actually got us out of a couple jams, like after shooting a horde of dogs without realizing we just needed to climb up on a train. One thing I found that really unbalanced the game was the ease of defeating most bosses. We had much more trouble in the village and generally where new enemies were introduced than with any of the bosses. All in all, it is pretty good for an action-style Resident Evil, and a remake of either the original or the second with similar co-op game play would be off the charts.

I don't find the game all that difficult when you have a infinite magnet, or gattling gun. I'm almost finished the game in veteran and i think there is a profissional mode to. Played mostly alone with the occasional co op here and there.

I thought you had to finish the game before you're allowed inf. weapons? I guess that would solve the problem of your partner using up all their ammo.

Did anyone else notice that the pathfinding system for the computer character is very weak? Also, when you're trying to improve your personal best time on solo, its impossible because they are ALWAYS too busy smashing crates

Warning HUGE Spoiler

--------------------------

You can get Infinite Ammo really early in the game if you play your cards right. All you need to do is upgrade your guns to its max, and under the bonus features you can buy them with your points.

Well since i gave away on how to get infinite ammo here is a helpfull cheat guide so to speak, funny thet they downgraded resident evil to 9 out of 9, wonder why.

Proffessional difficulty is unlocked either by:

Completing a chapter with someone who has already unlocked it (This is what I did)

or

Completing the game on Veteran difficulty.

MASSIVE SPOILER BELOW!

I've completed it on Professional, and believe me... Its like 50x harder than Veteran for a few reasons

From Chapter 3 (The majini wearing loincloths and spears) -- They are the worst to come accross by far! lol. (Jumping spear guys)

Chainsaws get back up after you've looted them and go into a berserking rage with swinging the chainsaw everywhere.

If you get hit once, you get put into dying (then die 2.5 seconds later) (Melee Vests have no effect)

Bulletproof vests have minor effects, but 4 bullets could kill you easily.

Dogs are 500,000,000,000x (500billion times) more annoying.

Ndesu (Wobbly headed boss at the end of Savanna (2-3)) is waaaaaaay harder I died 28 times to him, and he's like the second easiest - Use Sheva's gun

Irving - Seems to be easier, I don't know why

For everything else, just complete the game in under 5 hours and get Infinite Rocket Launcher - No reloading, semi-automatic firing (Like PSG-1 or SVD Dragunov sniper rifles)- Then you 'Shouldnt' find it too difficult

No kidding its hard, i wonder if in when i complete it you get a platinum trophie?. It makes me wan't to beat it.

off topic

If you think this game is hard on profissional, try beating Dead Space on the hardest difficulty, impossible.

The game was great for me. Hated the dogs!!!

OT> Fighting Wesker the first time was crazy, I didnt know what to do and I was trying to shoot him for 20 mins straight. five friends of mine were screaming and yelling me on. One of them said "LOOK AT THAT MOTHERF#$%ER! HOW IN THE HELL ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO KICK HIS A$$?! He's like a mix of the guy off of transporter, Chuck Norris and Neo off the matrix!

Its even better that I can play as Wesker on versus. ^_^...of course how is another one going to be made now that Wesker is gone? He has always been involved directly or indirectly with each game...unless he survived somehow

Maybe RE5 is the end of the series? That first fight with him was pretty intense but me and my brother figured it out fairly early. It still didn't make it any easier though. Playing through veteran on your first try makes the game fun. Professional mode is just brutal. Wesker is going to be missed but I think he's deserved the title of most badass game villian in my book right ahead of Vergil.

Graphics: 9/10

Gameplay: 10/10

Sure the game isn't as horror oriented as the others but that doesn't detract from the fact that the game is fun. Whether or not the games scary or not it's still intense. Capcom intentionally added a dificult aiming system and inability to move while aiming to keep it intense, same with the inventory. The game is full of Oh sh*t moments. I remember the first time I had a licker jump on my and stab me in the face I was like "Oh sh** son." Or when I saw the Reaper insects and got torn apart. I still flinch every time a reaper falls from its egg sac. Several of the boss fights are intense too. I can't remember how many times Ultimate-8 killed me my first play through.

Bonus content: Unlocking the costumes is fun, infinite ammo makes the game easy but fun, and Mercs mode is a fun way to spend 5-6 minutes with a friend.

The new DLC however doesn't seem like something I would download. RE5 is fun but it's meant for Co-op not competitive
