Problem with black armor & weapons

Hello to all who can help,

 

I've had problems with some of my armor and weapons showing up black, that is with no color. Some armor and weapon mods do this, and some don't.

 

Tried to research it already and got the impression it may be the reflective quality of the items, however not entirely sure.

 

Tried reinstalling and pretty sure I'm doing it right (not difficult - just drop in the data folder according to the readme's). Any ideas? Could this be a simple setting problem? (Tried switching AA on and off, no HDR possible).

you are putting the meshes in the meshes folder and textures in the textures folder also I presume,if not then thats your problem

Hi, thanks for the response. Yes, tried that, or rather most of the mod simply say put everything in your data folder, however I can try putting them in "manually".

 

One odd thing I forgot to mention with this problem. It happens only half the time (50%-75% of the time). Sometimes I boot up and everything is great. Though sometimes all my weapons and armor that are not based off the original meshes and textures will turn black.

 

I can certainly get screenshots if that will help.

The 50 -75% part is strange. You aren't by chance using

both OMOD and esp at the same time are you ?

 

Normally if the mesh and/or textures are in the wrong place the

problem would be constant.

 

Also some mods have their own folder. ie - Schmos sword. In this case

the Schmos sword mesh folder may come packaged in a Meshes folder,

or it may be in Meshes/weapons. Either way you will leave the weapon in

Schmos folder as the esp points to that folder - An example of this is TK's Rapiers

her throttlekitty folder goes in the meshes folder.

 

Not sure about this - If you have OBSE installed be sure to launch the game through the

OBSE launcher icon. There can be problems if you don't, but I don't know if this is one of them.
