poor traders

Hi all,

i've beenplaying Oblivion OOO and some other mods, mostly graphic, but have for some time now been running into a problem where none of the traders in the game, and I do mean all of 'em, ever have enough money to buy my valuable items. I frequently pick up items worth hundreds if not thousands of septims, only to end up running around looking for a trader to sell it to at its real value. But none can pay for it. So I sell if for a lot less than it's worth or stash it somewhere in a chest. But i'm always 5 feet away from bankrupcy while really I'm rich!

So I'm sitting on thousands of septims worth of valuable loot, but it's practically worthless. Particularly frtustrating as it keeps me from doing the expensive and neat stuff like buying houses of charging magical items. I know there is the economy enhanced mod but this seems to make traders even more poor from now, not what I'm looking for.

Thanks for any ideas!

Perhaps you don't fully understand some of Enhanced Economy's features. Assuming we're talking about the same mod "Enhanced Economy by The Nice One". One of the main features, Dynamic Barter Gold, allows you to fully customize how much gold vendors normally have via ingame menus. You can give vendors double or more gold than what they would normally have in vanilla Oblivion.

You can also set whether or not that amount decreases when you sell something to them. For example: Vendor has 1200 gold, you sell them an item worth 600, now the vendor only has 600. That is one small part of Dynamic Barter Gold...but can be disabled if you want vendors to keep a certain amount of gold. My suggestion...read the text file that comes with the mod, once you understand how the various settings work, EE is easy to customize and improves bartering mechanics tremendously.

If it is the economy mid from OOO than its doing what its supposed to, it nakes it so you need to spend to get and gold is always changing, just like in real life, you are nit the only person in gane buying and selling, its all chance and the trick here is to buy a lot of cheap itens until the shop keeper has enough to buy your big item, than slowly sell the snall items back as you beed the money, almost like a bank becuase you lose some money (not much) but also gain a lot more than you started with in the end. Just specify a chest you can di this with, prime example would be, keep buying all the iron arrows fron any general shop, that way it gets alot of money, than sell the large item, store all your arriws in a chest at your house than sell them back as you need the money, i have 54k iron arrows sitting at my house, thats 54k gold waiting for me, just have to sell a bit at a time or sell to multiple shops.

  • 2 weeks later...

Most likely the two would conflict and cause problems.
