...I can't turn my grass off..

I cant turn my grass off in oblivion. I set the grass distance slider to zero, hit okay, go back to playing. As soon as I turn around, BAM, the grass is all around me again.

 

So I try again...same thing, the settings are resetting on their own.

 

I've even turned the grass off in the INI, and it still insists on appearing on its own.

I had that happen when I used a mod that changed my video settings in combat. It constantly renewed it's own settings over mine including turning the grass back on. Maybe you have a mod on that's doing that too?

Fixed it. It was streamline 3.1.

 

I removed it, and its working now.

You didn't have to remove Streamline. Just set it up right and it will not turn the grass back on.

 

Open the Streamline window - Edit Feature Setting - FPS Smoothing -

Detail Settings - Grass {Set to 0 (off)}. and Streamline will not touch your grass.

Normally, if you are trying to find something lost in the grass you can turn the grass off

in the settings and it will stay off long enough to find what you are looking for. Unless you

have a high end computer with the min. fps set lower than necessary for you machine.

 

I will also repeat while I am here. Those who are having trouble with Streamline

turning off your distant lands. Set terrain to 0 NOT 1.

EDIT: The help guide says the terrain setting only applies if you have distant lands off,

but I have had found that it works better to have the terrain off if I want my distant lands

to stay turned on - SO far....

 

Streamline adjust everything in this section on the fly to stay within the FPS you have

selected.

if you dont want grass simply open console and type in TG(Toggle Grass) and that should do it.
