junjo75
"You must close all open Dialogue Boxes before saving" I get this warning window that pops up now when i try and save a mod in my GECK. No idea why this is now happening, but I cant find any open dialogue boxes open. Hell, I'll open a mod and without hitting any other button...try to save and I still get this error. Anyone have any help? This suckz i tried uninstalling and reinstalling GECK as well.
Deleted1084753User
Hmm, haven't tried uninstalling the GECK before, haven't had reason to, but does it actually remove the .ini files from My Games > Fallout 3? If it doesn't and is still using the same inis from when you originally had it installed, there's a possibility that some corruption or setting is still causing your problem. Try deleting the .ini files and start the program to generate default ones.
Skotte
"You must close all open Dialogue Boxes before saving" Make sure you don't have any warnings listed in the task bar
junjo75
So I deleted GECKcustom.ini and GECKprefs.ini and still no luck. I also dont see any warnings popping up in my task bar. Ive tried opening multiple mods and I get the same error window popping up every time I save. Ive tried the auto save feature in GECK as well, and it doesnt work. Cipscis
Try moving the GECK windows around a bit - there may be a dialogue box open behind one of them. If you've opened the GECK while using multiple monitors for your desktop, then there might be a dialogue box outside of your desktop, which you are unable to see. junjo75
only using one monitor...i tried moving all the windows around so i could get a full look at any "windows" not in view, but nothing was there. im at a complete loss at this point. i dont understand why uninstalling and reinstalling wont help. i wonder if there is some application ive installed on my comp. that would cause GECK to do this. that might explain why uninstalling and reinstalling and having new *.ini files wont work....if anyone has any suggestions, i would love to hear them. thanks so far for all the help
Deleted1084753User
You could try an uninstall, then use a reg cleaner program (CCleaner is a good one) to remove orphaned entries from the registry. Then reinstall the GECK. If that fails.... try uninstalling the game, and reinstall it. Since the GECK depends on the game, if something weird has happened in the game (and let's be fair here, the game IS heavily bugged) it's possible it could affect the GECK in weird ways too. Worth a try anyway :)
