BossDweebe
Wings would have to be created with a 3D modelling program such as blender. Some existing items - clothes, armour etc. can have their meshes altered with Nifscope, but it is limited to adding and removing bits, and a little bit of resizing. I think some animation stuff can be done here as well, but I'm not sure of that. Most item textures or meshes that are made as replacers do not need CS. Anything that needs as esp to work has to be done in CS. Many things can be done in CS and it an essentialtool for most mods. There is at least one good wing mod already however, download it for reference. "Alexander Wings"
Palpenious
Yes, basically to do ANY mods you have to use the CS. But, as stated, to make something that's not already in the base games (wings being the given example) you will need additional software. However, you can download free programs like Blender and GIMP to make those. If you are just making thing for yourself, you can also take mods that are made, and use the models from them to make your own mod. Your mod will then be dependent on the other, so if you deactivate it, they will not function properly in yours. Best to start out just learning the Construction Set, but before long you will probably want to start making your own weapons, armor, etc. not that there aren't already thousands out there. Good luck and have fun!

I mean... come on... quadratic keys? What degree do I have to get to understand that?
bben46
Yes, everyone must use the CS to mod for Oblivion. You can make pretty models in blender, but you will still need the CS to get them into the game. Learn the CS first. when you can manipulate things the way you want, then go on to some of the other programs like Gimp, blender, photoshop, nifscope etc.

bben46
CS: http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_utilities.htmNone of the others will do you any good until you learn this. Blender: http://www.blender.org/Nifscope: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.p...ckage_id=170735Gimp: http://www.gimp.org/ Photoshop is a commercial program, Gimp does about 90% of what you can do with photoshop. Each one does something different, although there is some overlap. There are a lot more modding tools, google for them when you need something in particular.
