Yossarian22
I scaled and optimized all Fallout 1+2 Locations to fit with GTS America Maps. This was a very difficult task, because Fallout 1+2 maps are overlapping and use different coordinates and landscapes. Also they have both slightly different landscapes than the real california. Redding, San Francisco and Reno are real existing Cities, so I used their coordinates as Fixpoints. So some Locations might not be 100% accurate with the original Fallout 1+2 Maps, but I think I did a good Job here. We working now, to get the right Ingame-Coordinates for all Locations and add them as empty worldspaces. That will be released as modding ressource soon. Here all Locations on the america map: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/99671-1239552854.jpg
Skree000
very very cool! this signifies a new era of modding inwhich rival mod groups will land-grab to try to build those locations, fighting eachother for who's mod is the 'legit' version of that location hehe Very nicely done i must say. Looks neat :) cant wait to see how its implemented.
Pax1138
Awesometastic. Is it bad that I can tell what all those places are by comparing dots? I bet it was hard to get them all placed just right. I recall reading that at least the Fallout 1 team moved stuff when they were finishing things up to make the game flow better. Like how Necropolis is supposed to be Bakersfield, Ca, but ended up closer to Barstow (I think it was). If nothing else, it'll be funny to see what some modders stick in those locations once you've released it as a resource. -Pax

Things I had to change: - F1 and F2 use different locations for Military Base, NCR, V15+13, so I used the coordinates from F2- Redding, Frisco and Reno are displaced on the F2 map from their Real Life Orgin, I used the true coordinates of them.- Arroyo, Klamath and Den are more south on the F2 Map, but to keep the correct distance to Redding I moved them a bit north. So, some locations are a bit different, but the Classic Game Distance between the locations is mostly accurate and also they are mostly in the right geographic area where they supposed to be in F1 and F2. My America Map use very similar geographic data like the classic maps, so if you compare them with this one you will find most locations where they should be. They only seem to be displaced, because I use a different earth projection map than F1+2 (original maps = Mercator and my maps = Miller Cylindrical) So, my release pack will have each map in a sepperated esp. So every modder can pick up a esp of the place he want do and change them to whatever he likes. If he already started one of these maps, he could just use the map coordinates without give it a thought. So, I hope this encourage some people here to add Fallout classic places. Most of them are definitly doable without incredible work and without a hugh team. There are others, that are of course more work (new reno, frisco, den, vault city) others could be done in a few weeks (toxic caves, ghost farm, vault 13+15 etc.)
davidzaccaro
Well I actually don't know why they call the USA America. Well in my knowledge America is the whole 2 continents North America and South America and also CENTRAL AMERICA   ( and Central America is somewhat a part of North America, I don't know why.) But back in the subject, What about Van Buren Map? In the American southwest. Look Here are some maps but I think it might have some inconsistencies with your map take a look: This is the Western Maphttp://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/...rn_USA_v1.0.jpg This is the Eastern Maphttp://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/...rn_USA_v1.1.jpg And as you can see there is LAS VEGAS and its really down to the South. And alot of other locations that were ment to be in VAN BUREN.

And alot of other locations that were ment to be in VAN BUREN. I call it america, coz my GTS Map has actually ALL america, means from alaska down to the south peaks of southamerica. And thanks a lot for the Links. I never know about those maps, thats amazing. I will take a look at this and see if I will add some of these van burdon locations too. But so far as I can see, the Van Burdon Map uses coordinates very close to my own coordinates and much more different coordinates from the original F1+2 maps. Another thing: I wish I could use more detailed maps with a better zoom in, but my maps already have 8 mb compressed with a size of 4096 pixel, so thats the limit I see to keep the game flow without having long loading times for every open up the worldmap. Coz maps aren't stored in game memory, same as Interface-Menus.

Yossarian22
So... alividlife, who actually added the worldspaces to the gameworld for me is already mostly done with it...The File will be available tomorrow then. Oh, and since he seems to be much more clever in calculating the coordinates ingame, we will maybe add a lot more locations in another package. Means, a few famous cities like new york, las vegas, mexico city or other points of interests and also the locations of van burdon or fallout tactics. All this premade worldspaces have a height of 20.000 and basic settings, so they are ready to start making landscapes or add objects/npcs etc. wihout bother about adding them to GTS or set up other worldspace settings. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/99671-1239566449.jpg
