Fallout Classic Map Locations

Soo will you be adding the Van Buren Locations? To GTS?

 

Yes we will add all Fallout Tactics and Van Burden Locations same like we did with the F1+2 Locations. Also we will add other cities and points of interest. However, all these worldspaces will be empty until somebody decides to build something there. Also, we only give help to find the right coordinates. Its not a big brew to add a location, that we not have included.

Ahh and something else, would you will be able to travel to each city in the WEST Fallout Map on FOOT? Or you NEED the Car to travel to each of them?

 

And too the only way to get to them is to fast travel or to go on foot like the locations on The Capital Wasteland?

Well its not really hard to make Fast travel without car available. Its about 2 console commands.

 

Second question: yes only with fast travel. Thats the whole Idea about it. You will never see the locations connected like the capital wastelands. Thats a task, that nobody can do belive me. But since the Classic Games only had generated cells between the locations, GTS is much closer to the original than the capital wasteland actually is.

And the last one. Do you think the Fallout 1 & 2 Fast Travel System, could be ported to Fallout 3?

You remember the fast travel you see the map and the character is a dot and when the character moves it leaves a trace in the map?

No, thats not possible.

I've not poked around with it but are you sure its not possible to simulate at least random encounters happening when you fast travel? I mean we won't have the dot but at least that will mean fast travel between locations brings the occasional surprise ;).

 

At the very least it would be possible to have a cell you have to pass through before you reach the destination. A cell or a door like marker which gives you outputs to several different, random cells, some of which are empty, some of which have random encounters. NB The door like marker could be a car ;)

 

Its likely there is a better way of doing this though with fast travel itself just taking you somewhere every now and again, before you reach your destination.

I suggest you download my mod and actually try it out. All stuff you descripe here I have already in it a looong time.

Very nice, i'll be interested to see how you scripted fast travel to do it. I have been away from fallout for a long while now so I have not kept up to date on what has been released, the mod just became a firm favorite on my list, thank you.
