rage_agnst6592
Well i am fresh to the whole world of modding and whatnot and thought myself intelligent enough to... well teach myself, but its not going to well xD ive downloaded OBMM and have been able to figure it out so i downloaded HGEC and High res skin textures for HGEC by ozmo and have been unable to use my HGEC, despite numerous un-instillation's and re-instillation's, any advice? and ive also been trying to download a custom race at http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View...ail&id=3971 which requires both HGEC and Roberts male body replacer v3 but i have been unable to correctly install the male body replacer and when i attept to play the game all the characters in my start screen have no eyes, the mystic elves just simply aren't there and a few custom races have black skin. if anyone wold take the time to help me i would greatly appreciate it
CrimsonKing1990
Do you have Eyecandy mod yet?
Maigrets
HGEC requires the base Eyecandy mod to be installed first. Then you install HGEC over it. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10171 This why you have characters with black skin. They are missing their base textures. The latest version of Robert's Male is V4 but V3 should still work if installed correctly.Robert's V4http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14942 The eye problem is usually caused by incompatible mods that add eyes with different meshes and the missing Mystic Elves also sounds as if you've installed something incorrectly. Are you using any other cosmetic mods, for example Beautiful People which is incompatible with many other mods.?

That has all options including body size etc. You'll need OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager) to use the OMOD file, but it makes things very easy and you can choose exactly what you want as you install. However, I use the manual install only because the OMOD wasn't available when I first starting using HGEC, so I'm not sure if the underwear versions are included in it. There are underwear choices among the HGEC files though. Install one of those after the base files.http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15802 I can't see why installing the Hi Res textures would stop you using the body mod though. They don't change anything but the textures.
rage_agnst6592
yes ive been using the omod versions for both and thats why ive been concerned because after the install i was unable to alter anything with HGEC i have no idea what the problem is and t still refuses to work even after i just reinstalled it =/
BossDweebe
I am a bit unclear as to what you mean when you say you are unable to "alter anything" with HGEC. There is only one body size available at a time.(The exception being with different clothes and armour mods on your character). If you are using OMOD's, be sure not to use an esp with that mod . Has the shape of the bodies of the NPC's changed in the game ? All NPC's will have the same body shape. This can only be changed in CS, with clothes and armour mods , but is another story. Did you install all the mods in one go ? If so remove all of them and startover, one by one. Body mods first. Then play test and make sure they work. Then do the race mods, also one at a time, and play test before moving on.btw - Mystic elves is a race mod, and all race mods are cosmetic by nature. OMODS can be a good thing, but I prefer using esp's. I like knowing what the mod is doing. With an esp mod you can examine the file structure and learn a lot. You can placeand remove files accurately. You can also "tweak" esp settings in CS if you want.I only have three OMOD's and overs 100 esp's.
Maigrets
I'm with BossDweebe. Although OMODS simpify installation for most people I prefer the manual method. If I do download an OMOD or BSA for that matter, because another version isn't available, I usually unpack it to see what's in it anyway. Depending on the mod I customize them to suit myself, especially races and cosmetic mods. However, I realize many people aren't familiar with doing this so OMODS are easier. I have about five OMODS and 150+ other mods that I prefer to install manually where possible. I also don't understand what you mean when you say you can't alter anything. If everything is installed correctly you will see the new body shape and textures in the game. The EC and HGEC body mods don't have esps to activate. They are meshes and textures only. rage_agnst6592
the mod just simple wont work for whatever reason whenever i try to activate HGEC with OBMM i can select the options fine such as body type, undearwear, etc but when i do run oblivion the body is always the same for instance if i choose underwear the character is nude and while the body itself is changed the skin is always monotone throghout, what im concerned about is when i first installed HGEC i was able to use it fine and whatnot but when i downloadedhttp://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20022 it went haywire and after i tried to delete it is when i started encountering issues with the mods
BossDweebe
The Hi res skin texture mod does not havea lot of skin detail, and is rather monotone. I basically usedseveral of the nipples and pubes on different races. I reckon this mod is trying to offer too much and results in bloat ware.It is probably best to pick what you like from it, and just use that.(a modders resource). It does have some good nipples and pubes. and I have used some in my own textures. I have used the Redguard texture, but I have stuckmostly with the original Exnem plus two of the "more hairy". You can have a different texture for each race. Just make a folderin the textures\characters folder for each race and then a male & femalefolder and put textures in these. You can add tattoos and whatever to the textures to make each race unique. It does take some time and practicewith the Gimp however. Then use Nifscope to check your work.
